My insurance company offers me free CGMs, and specifically the Dexcom G6 which I was really pleased with. They just switched me to the Libre 2 and it’s like going from a Lexus to a Kia.
Beggars can’t be choosers so I’ll deal with it. The main issue is that I can’t turn off the freaking alarms that go off every night at 3 am. 😡

If you're a #type1diabetic in the UK and on #libre2, an auto-update for iphone users has disabled the app. Scary stuff for diabetics, who rely on this app to monitor their blood sugars! I certainly quickly got alarmed. Luckily the diabetes.co.uk forum is onto it and pointed me to this video, which has a fix: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LfIbDA8ciSg
Goes to show a) you can't always rely on modern tech, but b) the web will always be there for answers! #crowdsourcing

@PaulDitz @Leisureguy @augieray @EllieK @catchingmybreath @likewise
I have found that using a continuous glucose meter, the #Libre2 has really changed my diabetes management.
I am able to see what foods will affect my blood glucose, for better or for worse and the amazing effect exercise has on my levels.
I can watch my blood glucose coming down during a walk, I often test every km that I walk and can see what is happening.

I'm diabetic, recently re-diagnosed as type one, after 20 years as a "type 2." (I never responded that well to conventional hypoglycemic meds. Latency in type one is probably a recessive gene thing, I'm guessing.) Anyway, dear hivemind, I have a "brain pick" question for people of any age using the Libre2 CGM system, be they Android or iPhone.
I use iPhone and have discovered that the alarms in the Libre2 app are unreliable, as well as there being a huge, hour-long gap in readings every midnight or so.
Does anybody experience this on droid?
Does anybody on iPhone know of a fix?
Seems like a desperately bad bug, especially as there are parents managing their kids' diabetes and relying on these alarms via their carers app. I'm tech literate and one of the first generation of "screenagers", even having done a bit of grey hacking in my misspent youth, so I know tech better than the median bear, but I'm cautious enough to know I don't know it all, either.
Any ideas, dear hivemind?

I think Abbott just lost control of a very important domain. It looks like libreview.io is where their APIs are supposed to live. Possibly expired on the 21st and went into grace period. Then registration updated today and now points to a parked godaddy site.
So if you are a Freestyle Libre user and have LibreLinkUp followers, this is likely why it stopped working.

Approaching waiting 5 weeks for more Libre 3 to be in stock. Still have none. CVS blames Abbott. Who knows what’s going on. CVS has supply in other parts of the country but doesn’t move supply where it’s needed, so there’s that.
I’m doubting I’ll get my Libre 3 refilled before my current Libre 2 sensor expires, let alone before the end of the year.

Time for an #introduction
First, this account is pseudonymous. I want to talk openly about #disabilities in ways that might complicate RL matters. Or might not, but. I also want to talk about the #writing I'm never doing. Ha.
I "suffer" (I hate that phrasing) from #type2diabetes (and take daily #insulin and use a #Libre2), #fibromyalgia (or... something?!), #GAD, #BingeEating, #ACEs, um... anyway I am in constant fight or flight and I hurt all the time. And my insulin receptors are broke.

I opted to try a chest site for my Libre sensor. I wanted to do this with the Libre 3 because the size seemed prime for this. But I went for it with the Libre 2 for now.
I might need to find a fattier area. It would mean shaving a bit more than I'd like, though. But the filament seems to be hitting something where I can feel it.
So far seems accurate, though, even for a day one sensor.

Well. Libre 3 continues to be out of stock. So I'm raiding the Libre 2s that I intended to donate. Figured the universe would play that cruel joke where I start a Libre 2 and then I'll get a notification my Libre 3s are ready for pickup.

I’d love to know the more #psycology behind #arttherapy, but have only briefly used it as a patient in #cbt type #grouptherapy many moons ago.
I’ve really become passionate about #healthtech, like #libre2 for #diabetes … #adhd / #neurodiverse apps.
I’m so excited the more i learn. I’m right at the start of Dunning Kruger, could be talking BS.
Anyone interest in chatting the implications of this tech & #mentalhealthmatters ?
❤️
