Oddawanie krwi to szlachetny cel, ale dla wielu osób wciąż wiąże się ze stresem, lękiem przed igłą lub po prostu… nudą. Samsung we współpracy z medycznym gigantem, firmą Abbott, postanowił to zmienić.
Rozwiązaniem okazują się gogle Galaxy XR, które na czas zabiegu odcinają dawcę od szpitalnej rzeczywistości.

Pilotażowy program, uruchomiony na początku czerwca w Korei Południowej przy współpracy z tamtejszym Czerwonym Krzyżem, to świetny przykład tego, jak nowoczesne technologie mogą rozwiązywać prozaiczne, ludzkie problemy. Zamiast wpatrywać się w sufit stacji krwiodawstwa, pracownicy kompleksu Samsung Digital City w Suwon zakładali na głowy gogle rozszerzonej rzeczywistości (XR) oparte na systemie Android XR.
Ogród sterowany samym wzrokiem
Zasada działania systemu jest fascynująca w swojej prostocie. Dawca, leżąc na fotelu, zostaje przeniesiony do wirtualnego, relaksującego środowiska inspirowanego japońskim ogrodem Zen. Co kluczowe z medycznego punktu widzenia – system nie wymaga użycia żadnych fizycznych kontrolerów ani gestów rąk (co w trakcie oddawania krwi, z igłą w żyle, byłoby przecież cokolwiek utrudnione).

Wykorzystanie Galaxy XR to nie tylko efektowny gadżet dla dawcy, ale też realne ułatwienie dla personelu. Miguel Carrazza z działu transfuzjologii firmy Abbott zwraca uwagę, że sprzęt doskonale sprawdza się w środowisku medycznym. Personel może swobodnie monitorować pacjenta, podczas gdy on sam pozostaje całkowicie zrelaksowany i nieruchomy.
Sami dawcy biorący udział w koreańskim pilotażu zwracają uwagę na jeszcze jeden prozaiczny aspekt: czas płynie w goglach po prostu szybciej. Konieczność siedzenia w bezruchu przestaje być uciążliwa, gdy przed oczami mamy interaktywny, reagujący na nasz wzrok świat.
Inicjatywa nie kończy się jednak na azjatyckich testach. Samsung i Abbott ruszyli z globalną promocją swojego rozwiązania. Wiele wskazuje na to, że wirtualne ogrody Zen mogą wkrótce stać się standardowym wyposażeniem stacji krwiodawstwa. To z kolei świetny dowód na to, że rynek gogli XR to coś znacznie więcej niż tylko narzędzie do gier i wirtualnych biur.

who knows how [or whether it is possible] to switch the units on an #abbott #freestileLibre measuring device?
i gifted the sensor of my late mother to an elder not in germany who would like to have mmol/dl instead of the mg/l that are in use where i live. :(
haven't found out whether apps can connect without problems and/or prescription, maybe that is a solution, will try to find out.
edit: not possible to switch on the measuring device, we will try an app. thanks for all contributions!
