Finished the bulk of moving my (102) repos from (selfhosted) #Gitlab to (selfhosted) #Forgejo. Oldest commits are > 25 years, and has taken the journey #CVS -> #Subversion -> Gitlab -> Forgejo.
Now I just need to update #pom locations for ~30 projects and #CI for ~20. Not looking forward to that.
I also hope that some of the missing features will be included in Forgejo soon – its #runner system is not ready to run on modern infrastructure (no k8s compatibility) and its site publication has weird kinks (to the point I avoid it altogether).

CVS somehow started sending email to my phone's email address. I don't want them to email my phone directly, so I tried unsubscribing, but that was evidently fruitless.
In puzzling over what to do, I realized that while I can't have Postfix's header_checks match two different headers - my first hope - their headers all include a Received line from an internal MTA that happens to embed the target email address!

I walk to the #CVS pharmacy near our house to get a prescription filled for my wife that she needs by Tuesday.
They don't have it in stock and can't get it until Wednesday. I get in the car to drive to the next CVS over.
The pharmacist there tells me they can't fill it because it doesn't have the doctor's NPI on it and it's signed with an ink stamp instead of an actual signature, which is invalid, so it would be illegal for them to fill it.

OpenNTPD hit the OpenBSD CVS in late 2004. Now, 20 years and a few milliseconds later, it's time to look back, how it was received, and what changed.
We'll briefly look at the world 20 years wrt having systems' clocks synchronized (or not), the design of OpenNTPD and how it fundamentally differed from everything around back then, and how it was - intentionally or not - misunderstood by some with very little knowledge but a lot of opinion, and how FUD from 20 years ago is still around. We'll cover what changed in OpenNTPD after it went public, and what changed in OpenBSD to increase accuracy substantially. We'll also cover the later added constraint feature to further defend against getting fed incorrect time.

Take a break from thinking about World War III to think instead about all the shitty tech we're forced to put up with.
My child in grad school just filled a prescription at #CVS. I got the receipt for it in email because despite the fact that they're 26 years old and fully launched, their CVS record is still linked to my ExtraCare account. They asked the clerk how to fix that and was told they had to call CVS on the phone. Can't be changed in the store or the app. 😡

I didn't realize until I checked scheduling for my latest COVID vaccine that the recommendation had been reduced from 4 to 2 months between vaccinations for people over 65 here in the U.S.
Anyway, number 12 done this morning.

The great thing about going down to #CVS to get my #COVID shot isn't that because I'm seriously old, they text and remind me it's been six months. No, the great thing is when the guy administering the shot happens to be the pharmacy manager and so when he asks if there's anything else he can do for me, I can tell him to send a message to little Bobby telling him to get the fuck out of the way and let the scientists get back to doing science.
Yeah, I did that.
