Solved the problem by buying a new one
UPDATE: funfact: the pen of the new intuos does not work with the old one
on the plus side: works out of the box with ubuntu linux just like the old one
but it still has a miro-usb instead of usb-c

i was looking for a new pen for my pretty old wacom intuos ctl 490
turns out the new model in the same area as mine just cost ~35€
that's really sad throwing away a totally working tablet just because the pen is missing (it was also damaged by a fall too) -

J'ai un petit souci avec ma tablette graphique #Wacom #Intuos CTL 6100WL sous Linux #Mint (en vrai Linux #nird
Je n'arrive pas à la faire fonctionner en #bluetooth...
Alors, j'arrive bien à la connecter à la machine en bluetooth mais pas de mouvement de stylet.Aucun problème avec en filaire en revanche (pression et mouvement nickel👌).
Si vous avez des idées ? #help
Le repouet rend la vie soyeuse et le poil agréable (ou l'inverse, je ne sais plus !).
PS : Oui, j'aime bien, parfois, m'installer à une place vide dans la classe quand je remplis une fiche leçon ou qu'on corrige un exercice avec ma tablette connectée ! ^^

Da ich den #Surface Studio Desktop derzeit nicht mit vertretbarem Aufwand auf #Linux umgezogen bekomme, zweitbeste Lösung gewählt:
schnuckeliges #Dock von @tuxedocomputers statt einfachem Netzteil ans Stellaris gehängt und mein altes #Wacom #Intuos entmottet. Ein bisschen Gefrickel, um die Tastenbelegung meinem Geschmack anzupassen und mit #Krita (statt #GIMP - sorry) bin ich echt glücklich.
Jetzt braucht's noch einen Monitor mit voll-kalibriertem Farbraum und ich bin wieder im Spiel! -
Je crois qu'il va être temps de changer la pointe de mon stylet... Elle est lééééégerement émoussée. Et ça serait bien aussi que je nettoie ma tablette... Elle est cracra.

CW: Looking for advice on alternatives to Wacom pen tablets
Question for artistically-inclined folks, especially #macOS users:
Any recommendations for non-#Wacom drawing tablets?
With a little searching, it looks like #Huion or #XPPen are the most commonly mentioned competitors. Any thoughts, pro or con?
Background: I'm not actually any good at drawing, but I've been using Wacom #Intuos pen tablets for years as my primary "mouse". I find a pen tablet much more comfortable than a mouse, and though I don't draw, photo editing is much easier with a pen tablet. (Pen tablet only, no built-in screen necessary.)
However, while Wacom's hardware is good, their macOS driver support has been and continues to be _atrocious_. It is always weeks after a new macOS release comes out before their drivers are declared ready, and even once they are, they're invariably buggy and problematic. I waited for nearly a month after macOS #Sonoma was released to upgrade because I was waiting for Wacom to indicate their driver was ready; now that I've updated, their driver is crashing multiple times a day, generally requiring a reboot to get going again, and even when it works, for some reason using shift or the command key to select multiple items doesn't work if I'm using the Intuos (but does if I use an Apple trackpad for the mousing-and-clicking part of the operation).
I'm tired of fighting with Wacom. But I know nothing about the competitors, and I wonder about going from a ~$300 input device to a ~$70 input device. I don't expect it to be quite at Wacom's level, but I also don't want to end up with something that's even more frustrating than what I'm dealing with now.
Any recommendations, thoughts, suggestions, or personal experience to draw upon?

Ordered on July 12 and arrived on July 16. Not bad. Kaya minsan sa Amazon na lang ako bumibili lalo na kung tech-related at aabot naman sa free shipping ($49). 😁

The Intuos drawing tablet just works on Linux (thanks linuxwacom community!) and I'm planning to use it during online trainings and lectures.
Ordered on July 12 and arrived on July 16. Not bad. Kaya minsan sa Amazon na lang ako bumibili lalo na kung tech-related at aabot naman sa free shipping ($49). 😁

Not a huge fan of #PrimeDay sale but here's a small haul.
- 2 Lexar NS100 512GB SSDs for PhP2,000 (PhP1,000 each)
- Wacom Intuos (CTL-4100) small wired drawing tablet for PhP2,200Will probably use the SSDs for future laptop/PC projects. The NS100 is a solid entry-level SSD. Storage (SSD) prices are some of the lowest I've seen in years so if you were looking to upgrade your storage, now might be the time.

Another terrible feature that causes my Intuos tablet to malfunction, and that I had already disabled, but got automatically enabled with the latest Windows update is "Windows ink". Turn it off by deselecting the option on the Mapping section in the Wacom settings #wacom #intuos #windows #settings #windowsink

I have an old Wacom intuos 3, which works fine on older machines (no longer supported on modern MacOS). Free to anyone that can make use of it and is happy to cover the shipping.

I would really, REALLY love it if Adobe wouldn't completely fry/change the default workspace setups in InDesign and Illustrator whenever they feel like it via an update.
I would also really, REALLY love it if my Wacom Intuos tablet/pen wouldn't be so touchy (literally) and randomly zoom/pan/rotate stuff.

I just had nice wow moment on Arch Linux running the latest Gnome.
I connected my old Wacom intuos touch 5 onto my computer and just typed into firefox the search how to get it running when I realized that it just works.
Like, not just touchpad and tablet modes. You can also remapp every button like natively in Gnome.
That blew my mind a bit away.
