Can someone suggest a new name for my threads app? I started on it before Meta came out with their Threads.
It is primarily for indieweb personal websites to feature handpicked public posts.
I want it to be self-hostable; to be integrated to existing personal sites.
I will evolve it to have a mini fedi client that allows people to sign in & engage on posts using their existing fedi accounts.

Just scraping the #IANA assigned TLDs and the corresponding documented #nameservers. What I don't get is, why so many companies apply for a #TLD. It's not particularly cheap to apply for one of those ngTLDs, yet compared to the company sizes, it's probably pennies. Is it a prestige investment? Is it a digital resource to grab, before someone else does it?
Other than #Microsoft, #Google, and #AWS, I've rarely seen any ngTLD representing a corporation's name to actually be used in practice.
Does anyone in the #infosec community share their view?

Is there any great book on #AlpineLinux ? I love the concept, and love the considerations of the operating system. Yet, I usually opt for #Debian since I am much more familiar with it. It would be great to change that in the mid-term.

Does anyone know of an android music app that can play tracks downloaded to a folder but doesn't auto play the next track when the current one finishes?
I have to play some music at an event via a Bluetooth speaker and the apps I can find all jump to the next track automatically, but I need to be able to play them individually.

I share a lot of links, obviously. Just things I find interesting and want to share or discuss. Many of them are timely, though, and most of them are not my content
So, I am wondering if I should set those to autodelete. What are your feelings towards automatically deleting old posts?

The web gets crawled even more recently for the purpose of enriching LLMs like ChatGPT.

Details:
Afaik `robots.txt` gets ignored and `User Agent` strings get spoofed, let's not assume good faith.
I'm thinking about things server-side rate limiting or (so sorry) dynamically loading web content via JavaScript. Which is (without any good reason) an anti-pattern, but at least a workaround for these desperate times.

❓ What are good tool to schedule posts on a Fediverse account?

Scenario: I write a post (possibly including pictures) and instead of publishing immediately it should be stored and published at a later point in time.
Interactive/GUI-based tools are good, but scripts and automatable CLI-programs are also appreciated.Let's assume an instance that implements Mastodon's API.

I keep being told to use #Firebase from Google as a backend for mobile apps, but my heart and brains says "stay clear of those who do no good" as we've seen #Google do during the last years.

❓ Does anybody know of a federated, single-user instance software, that runs on PHP and MySQL (or equivalent)?
🤔 Rationale:
Most web hosters I know still use that kind of technology for their cheap tier, non-static offers. That typically does not include technology like Docker, Node, etc.
Having some project filling that niche would lower the bar for people to get their own instance (incl. domain).
For projects I found myself so far see thread.
