Time to move on I guess.

Any suggestions for my next #linux distro, that plays nicely with drawing tablets?

Does #archlinux work well with #wacom #digitaldrawing devices?

  3. We all know this feeling.

A drawing where I made the sketch in pencil, by hand, and afterwards added the colours digitally. Something I rarely do, but it is nice to test new things.

  8. Hmm... I have the latest version of iPad OS on my tablet now, and iCloud is taking forever to sync. I've been relying on that to import my work to my PC to run it through Glaze... it could be that I'll be purchasing this thing sooner than I had planned.

I will definitely enjoy the 16:9 aspect ratio and the 14 inch screen when that change comes to pass.

  9. hey #mastoart

I’m trying to find a good 16 inch display tablet as my new main driver. Yes I know the #wacom ones are probably the best (but please tell me otherwise :D ), but…yk…they’re super expensive

rn I’m looking between #huion and #xppen, but I’m open to any suggestions.

even if you don’t have any pls spread the word! it’s a big help :ShibaPls:

  10. Dear Team Wacom,

I know this is a lot to ask, but I would really love it if my Wacom tablet was recognised as being plugged in to my Mac when it is plugged into my Mac.

    Yours faithfully,

    A. Customer

My CTL-4100WL Wacom tablet only connects via Bluetooth to the PC when my M650 Logitech Bluetooth mouse is already connected, like, what kind of bug is that?

  15. Today I discovered that tilt does not work on #Wayland #KDE with my #Wacom One Pen #DrawingTablet (while there is no problem under Xorg).

Not sure if it’s a general (Wayland/KDE) problem or something with this specific tablet. But it’s surprising how many things are broken when Wayland is getting pushed as the default.

  16. Je crois qu'il va être temps de changer la pointe de mon stylet... Elle est lééééégerement émoussée. Et ça serait bien aussi que je nettoie ma tablette... Elle est cracra.

  17. This report about #Wacom graphics tablets is disturbing for a couple of reasons.

    1. They are surveilling users of their #tablet - a human-interface device analogous to a mouse or trackball - recording every application you open, or when you switch between windows of different applications. They are collecting this data via a trip through Google Analytics, aka Spyware Central. There is no possible way to justify collection of this particular data; it is none of their damn business how long you have your drawing program focused before switching to your browser and back again. The author notes their privacy policy really doesn't describe this collection of data correctly, so there really can't be informed consent in the first place.

    2. Why on earth is it possible in #Apple #OSX / #MacOS for a USB human interface device driver to capture this information in the first place? Apple shares a big slice of the blame here - this should just simply not be possible for the driver to collect in the first place. Having such a driver allowed to place outgoing HTTP requests is also a big "WTF are they thinking?" moment.

  22. Ok, guys...

I'm not sure I can quite express how bizarrely freeing and enjoyable this incredibly derpy little exercise was.

I'm definitely going to make a habit of drawing more, even though I really don't know how!

Because NoneHitWonder was right! The schlockiest napkin scrawl is better than the most sublime AI slop!

I was thinking about buying a used #Wacom tablet to draw on, because it would be fun to create #monochrome art in #G/IMP (or heck, even #MacPaint via emulation!!), but I think I'll just continue using my fountain pens, and add doodles to my dot-lined paper notebook.

Thanks to the following amazing people for inspiring me:

  25. CRAP 😒

I just can't get my #graphicstablet to work the way I did under #Debian. Basically, the #Medion device works with the #wacom driver. In my 2-monitor mode, however, it is split in the middle, which is rather inconvenient for drawing. In Debian, a two-line #shell file was sufficient, with which I could continuously switch through the states "Both -> Left -> Right" using a keyboard shortcut. Now under #ArchLinux, it just doesn't work anymore. Does anyone know where I'm confused? #Arch #Linux
