  8. My project of the last couple days is trying to get the audio tracks from the #PS2 game #FreQuency (#Harmonix, 2001). This is a rhythm game where you build up a song by playing a short segment of each of eight tracks, eventually leading to the full production as long as you can keep the plates spinning. Since the in-game music is divided into channels, I thought it should be possible to rip them individually - usable as stems for Remix purposes.

    The tools to get to the end are there but it took some effort to locate and figure out the workflow. Starting from the .bin/.cue, make a .iso file (binchunker). From the ISO retrieve "LEVELS.ARK". This data file can be read by GameArchives (github.com/maxton/GameArchives) and get a directory tree with game data.

    Each song is kept in a subfolder by short-name, and inside are two MIDI files (_p for preview, _c for the actual tune) plus one or more .hd/.bd pairs (the samples).
