There might be some noise incorporated from a fan driving the sound

Or it could be a pump-organ type, which has two bellows — one to pump in air, which inflates a chamber where another bellows releases a steady stream of air through the reeds

The inner bellows is very cleverly hidden and mysterious 🤫 🪗

It was #organ builders who added crucial differences to 3,000 year old free reed designs imported from Asia

These “westernized” free reed organs then developed into everything from the #harmonica, #harmonium and #accordion

Nobody’s quite sure, but it might have been one of a few German guys working in Copenhagen who showed them off in Saint Petersburg (#WorldMusic 1780)

Like a miniature lap-cello with a push-pump on the bottom to control its bellows-fed reed organ insides

Again fantastic metal button-board on the neck. I would probably start crying if I got to play one of these some day 😭

Maybe add a strap over one or both feet like an #accordion bass strap?

I think the standard ones only produce sounds on the press?

It would need a secondary reservoir bellows to allow for continuous airflow — that would be pretty cool 😎

Serge Fiori, qui a co-fondé Harmonium, vient de mourir. J'ai découvert ce groupe sur le tard - comme tout le monde, je connaissais les tounes mais je m'étais jamais arrêté-e pour les écouter comme faut.

En 2015, le Rolling Stone a inclus leur «Si on avait besoin d'une cinquième saison» dans son top 50 des meileurs albums de rock progressif. La réaction de quelques spécialistes ça a été: ça devrait être dans le top 5.

Et là, je me suis dit: «wèyons, c'est-tu si bon que ça Harmonium coudonc»? Et je me suis enfin assis-e, j'ai mis mes écouteurs, j'ai parti la musique pis j'ai fermé les yeux.

Maintenant, quand je feele tout croche et que tout échoue à m'apaiser l'esprit, je mets du Harmonium. C'est devenu ma valeur de référence pis une partie intégrante mon dernier rempart intérieur.
