#KnowledgeBit:The #Sea #Organ is an architectural sound art object located in Zadar, #Croatia and an experimental musical instrument, which plays music by way of sea waves and tubes located underneath a set of large marble steps.
They are designed as a group of pipes that run under large marble stairs, and the sea waves create air pressure that produces random but fairly harmoniously arranged tones in the pipes.

The piece, by the way, is “Jesus, joy of man’s desiring”, also know as”Jesu bleibet meine Feude” by J.S. #Bach. It’s a very nice transcription to #organ by Noel Rawsthorne.
This music is very often performed on organ, but I always thought it would be too difficult for me. Yesterday I tried it for the first time, and it turns out that it goes quite well.
(Despite the footnote that “it’s illegal to photocopy music”, I copied it, because the original book doesn’t stay open on the same page, no matter what I try)

🧵 … needless to say, I remember having recorded samples from my #Elka E9 #organ. But I can't find them anywhere. They're not on any SSD, not on any blue-ray, DVD or CD.
I had bought this 1984 organ for 1€ from Ebay, in full working condition, somewhen in the 2005 or so. It never was not crap, sound-wise. When I sold my parents' house, I had tro trash it because it took too much space and nobody would want it.
But today that crap is has become cool again. Especially these nasty analog #synthesizer drum computers that are in these things.
