  1. Next concert in Ireland, in Clonakilty (West Cork) — with a very Jules Verne spirit ✨

A concert where the harpsichord and organs transform into a giant machine for travelling through time…
Another wonderful crazy adventure to share with you all 🚀🎹⏳

And on top of that, it’s free at Kilgarriffe Church! 🎉

  8. Halfway through the fabulous organ concert with Anna Lapwood at Boardwalk Hall in Atlantic City, NJ. What an instrument and what a performance!

  9. Anna Lapwood was absolutely incredible last night. I didn’t want her to finish and it was clear she didn’t want to either! I’ve performed with the Winspear’s Davis organ many times but I’ve never heard it quite like I did last night.

Incredibly thankful to have experienced Anna on that amazing organ. Big props to the Winspear team for making this entirely sold out show (including the gallery!) happen.

  13. Had a glorious day off yesterday, and spent most of it on the sofa. And now it’s back to business (as in teaching) as usual after all the Easter madness.

My husband declared today Organists’ Easter and plans to celebrate by eating a Kinder egg. His turn to spend the day on the sofa. :)

Want #accordion mystery #MusicHistory origin stories?

Watch for Christian Gottlieb Kratzenstein (presented his “speech machine” in St Petersburg in 1780)

And the unfortunately multiple-spelling’ed Franz Kirsnick / Kirshnick, Kirschnick, Kirschnigk

Another German in Copenhagen, #organ builder who maybe assisted Kratzenstein, sold organs with the “western” free reeds that come down to us)

And (not to jack your thread, but to add further #MusicTrivia)

It was #organ builders who added crucial differences to 3,000 year old free reed designs imported from Asia

These “westernized” free reed organs then developed into everything from the #harmonica, #harmonium and #accordion

Nobody’s quite sure, but it might have been one of a few German guys working in Copenhagen who showed them off in Saint Petersburg (#WorldMusic 1780)
