And (not to jack your thread, but to add further #MusicTrivia)

It was #organ builders who added crucial differences to 3,000 year old free reed designs imported from Asia

These “westernized” free reed organs then developed into everything from the #harmonica, #harmonium and #accordion

Nobody’s quite sure, but it might have been one of a few German guys working in Copenhagen who showed them off in Saint Petersburg (#WorldMusic 1780)

  6. Ok I have a mental mystery, I have been trying to recall a female singer that back in the mid 90's I thought was hot, I can not remember her name her music her style, I thought there was a movie made either with or about her, she is not anyone most people would think of at all, but if they heard her name would be like o yea she was great, so not really a memorable person, think along the lines of The Eagles, Stevie Nix, Reo Speedwagon, Fleetwood Mac, I have searched high and low and none of the female singers from say 1970-1999 even ring a bell in regards to this person, I know I am not imagining remembering, yet I simply can't recall who what where or how, and it is now driving me nuts; #music, #musictrivia, #musichistory,

  7. Do you know your prog? A quiz to test your knowledge of prog trivia

This week's quiz involves four musicians/bands.
Anglo-Hungarian early jazz-prog-classical pioneers Continuum; Steve Hackett; Steve Howe; and Peter Sinfield.

Which single tune features in recordings by each of them?

  8. The story goes that if it weren’t for Michael Jackson, this song (btw, ideal tempo for performing CPR) never would have gotten released. I’m glad Queen decided to release it.
