Getting progressively more frustrated with trying to get my cello properly miked up and connected to my looper pedal.

My tiny little AKG C411 has a mini XLR output, a connector I'd not seen before, so I went to my favourite local music shop saying I wanted a mini XLR to regular XLR adapter so I can plug into the (phantom power) mic input on my looper pedal.

They didn't have anything and could order something in but said, basically, amazon would be waaaay quicker.

So I ordered a cable and when it arrived I realize I'd bought a male to female, not a male to male. Ordered something else and was delighted this morning to discover that it was the correct one.

However, when I plugged it all in: Nothing.

According to TFM I need either an special AKG battery pack or a special AKG phantom power adapter (which looks very much like the cable I tried today, just significantly more expensive and a longer wait). I reluctantly ordered the latter. Fingers crossed.

If I had time to learn playing another instrument I would learn playing a cello. Perhaps in the not so far away future, hopefully.

Btw, if you know playing cellos, how hard is it to learn? Like, 5 to 10 years, or something in between?
