Nice! With #GrafX2 and my pfp I finally have a custom favicon. Also fixed the default picture for link preview, if there is no header's picture for the linked post :drgn_aww: Like this:

Tried to draw a bit with a GrafX2 :drgn_blep:
Interesting program and a simple enough :drgn_aww: Almost everything could be controlled via the keyboard.

@atichiipixels I have never used #aseprite . I only ever see it mentioned everywhere, must be popular. However, since the basics of pixelart have been fixed and not changed at all in the past 30 years, there is no need to get used to any newer software as long as you can use the old, or something very similar to ancient Amiga Deluxe Paint like #grafx2 , but it's a bit too Spartan for my taste. German software company Cosmigo make ProMotion, a #pixelart tool especially for game artists.

And I realized #Grafx2 does have a color cycling feature just like in #DeluxePaint, but Grafx2 does not support separate color cycling ranges.
In fact, it only has one color cycling range compared to, say, DPaint III's six separate ranges.
(Deluxe Paint IV has an impressive *eight* individual color cycling ranges!)

Leaving this here, just in case someone like @fractalkitty or some other alien, ghost, or geek comes across some notion about doing palette cycling for a bit of change of pace, after having looked at Deluxe Paint: https://pulkomandy.tk/projects/GrafX2/downloads?order=platform&desc=

I have just relased a new version 2.9 of GrafX2, "the ultimate 256-color painting program".
Binaries are available for Haiku, Gamepark Holdings GP2x, Nintendo Switch, Atari Mint and Windows (yes, our build automation somehow focuses only on the most ridiculous platforms). For Linux it should hopefully be updated in your favorite distribution soon.
Not a lot of changes in this version, many bugfixes and more fileformats supported (Apple IIgs, C64, CPC, Atari TT...)

I have not done any serious development in #GrafX2 in... I don't remember, 10 years at least? But I managed toget back into it and somewhat remember how it works. Today I added a new window when loading a .scr (Amstrad CPC) file without a known palette or loader (basically just a dump of screen memory). You can select the videomode and width/height in that case.

I finally bought a real domain name for #GrafX2 so you can now find the homepage at http://grafx2.eu
The .tk domain expired or was cancelled again and my .tk account was semi-banned so I can't re-register it… and it's not such a great idea since I don't actually live on Tokelau island where this domain belongs, so, that's fixed now.
I guess I should move pulkomandy.tk as well, but that would break a lot more stuff :( -
One thing I've learned from using #grafx2, and it's one I've discovered via a tutorial: Color cycling is possible in this Deluxe Paint and Brilliance-inspired software program.
The way I discovered it: You click on a color, and you hold the mouse down so it extends to all or part of a color palette. Then, go to the gradation menu and turn on "Cycling." You can also adjust the speed to however you please, from speeds as fast as 14ms to as low as 800ms. Then, click "OK," and that's it.
