The series premise is great but the execution is uneven with too much emphasis on adding secret after secret after secret while revealing too little until the last few episodes.
Overall, I enjoyed season 1.
The first episode of season 2 is excellent.
Shailene Woodley is phenomenal and the writers created a mostly realistic scenario that gave her room to work.

I love Paul Simon, but #graceland also makes me think of just how self centered the default #babyboomer viewpoint has always been.
His kid from his failed marriage is 9 years old - and isn't the focus, or any concern. Instead he's "a traveling companion", and, allegorically, he immediately takes a back seat to the parent of the 80s journey of supposed self-discovery (usually just hedonism in practice).
9 year olds don't want to go to Graceland.

A Missouri woman has pleaded guilty in connection to an attempted plot to steal Elvis Presley's Graceland estate. Lisa Findley forged the signatures of Lisa Marie Presley and Florida notary Kimberly Philbrick in order to claim that Elvis's daughter had not paid back a loan that listed Graceland as collateral. In May 2024, public notices were filed stating that Graceland would be auctioned, but this was stopped at the eleventh hour. Findley faces a 57-month federal prison sentence for what prosecutors called a "brazen scheme."

Spent yesterday in Memphis, Tennessee checking out Graceland, Sun Records/Studios, and Beale Street. So much early Rock & Roll history.
I liked the city and it makes me shake my head at the smack talkers about it. Yes, it is gritty and low income. I think most are uncomfortable about the majority African-American population which leads to the smack talk.
Definitely a city for people who love music and want to see some history.
