  1. I do expect — and I think it is reasonable to expect — leaders to maintain their professional boundaries in and outside of working hours.

  2. ...Earlier in my career, that wasn’t the case, and I learned a lot from working with a large variety of good, bad, and awful leaders (and a number of “effective” leaders who exhibited leadership characteristics I would never emulate for reasons).

  3. In my “day job” I am a leadership and career development professional, and I am 30 years into my career, so for me, everything is a curious and fascinating case study — but even I struggle to find my way with leaders who don't treat staffers with professional respect or who violate team member boundaries.

People obsessed with follower count seem to disregard #followership, for themselves or others: en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Follow

  5. gedanke des #contemptus:
kann es sein, dass es so viele #leadership -trainings/consultings/bücher deshalb gibt, weil die marktlogik das nahelegt?

  7. The terms “influencer” and “follower” devalue #ParticipatoryLeadership and #followership.

    I don’t disagree.

I disagree that the construct of influencing is inherently bad, evil, or wicked.

The etymology of the word comes from observations of celestial objects. It an old concept which pre-exists the internet, like most of our #language.

IMHO, #leadership is about influencing and, ideally, creating more leaders.

Even the construct of #followership involves aspects of influence.

As a matter of #FirstPrinciples, I suggest reclaiming the term.

  10. Nobody wants to be led!
    We are human beings, dammit!
No #leading, no f@*king #leaders, no #followership necessary, DAMMIT! People are not sheep! When will that #LEADERSHIT thing finally end? When will we get rid of the terror of command-and-control thinking?

    DAMMIT.
