***Attention!***
To all of my friends here. I realise I have not deleted this account. I have also seen several people follow me here recently. Please be aware that I now almost exclusively post at Mastodon, on someplace.socialat Dreamwidth (not part of the Fediverse)
and at Reddit (not part of the Fediverse, creator/administrator of the Old Opera, and Blind and Fine subreddits)
You can also find me on Escargot Chat (MsN Messenger) at [email protected].
I'm sorry if this has confused anyone. I do/did enjoy Friendica and Akkoma, and they do work with Tweesecake and TWBlue, respectively, , but the main sites have accessibility issues. I am adding certain tags that don't belong here, but this is how many people found me, so please forgive my taking the liberty of adding them. I just want people to be able to find me at the right place.

Here are four very different subreddits that I created.
1.
Old Opera
This is a subreddit for those who love, or are even curious about, opera and its singers from the 1950's and earlier. Feel free to ask questions, share reviews and links, and discuss this wonderful genre of music and the singers and composers who brought it to life. Everyone, from beginners to experts, is welcome.https://www.reddit.com/r/OldOpera/
2.
Blind and Fine
If you want to join apositive subreddit for the blind, try r/BlindandFine. The subject matter is far less strict than at r/blind, since not everything needs to be related to blindness. This is more of a place where we can get to know each other and have fun. We allow sighted people to join as well, and we welcome questions about blindness if they are genuine, requests for feedback on surveys or technology about/for the blind, etc. However, I do ask that you join only if you are eighteen or older. Please also note that this is not a therapy/support group. If you need that, then r/blind is for you. I am not an administrator there, only of Blind and Fine.https://www.reddit.com/r/BlindAndFine/
3.
FrozenDinnerReviews
This is the place to talk about tv dinners and other frozen foods. Share opinions and recipes, ask questions, etc. If you must post pictures, please describe them or write a post containing text so that those of us who cannot see will know what it's about. Even something like "box of X brand pizza) is fine.https://www.reddit.com/r/FrozenDinnerReviews/
4.
EscargotFamily
This subreddit is for those who use the Escargot client to access Windows Live/MSN Messenger. This is a place where we can get to know each other and share contact information strictly for adding each other to Messenger (no real addresses, phone numbers, etc.). Please only join if you're over eighteen.https://www.reddit.com/r/EscargotFamily/

***Attention! If you miss MSN/Windows Live Messenger, AIM, and/or ICQ, this is for you! If you use a screen reader and want a 100% accessible messenger client, this is also for you.*
This works with Windows XPthrough 11, and I'm logged into it as I write! It's called Escargot, and it revives Windows Live/MSN Messenger. This is the original software, but it has been patched so that it connects to the escargot.chat server and not the Microsoft one. It is 100% free and accessible with NVDA and I'm sure JAWS as well. They also have projects for AIM (AOL Instant Messenger) and ICQ, including for Android and IOS, and are working on a web client for MSN. (I don't know if AIM or ICQ are accessible with screen readers, as I have never tried them). Anyway, if you're over twenty-one (my personal request), have read my profile here, and wish to add me, I am [email protected]. You can find everything here.Note: If you already have Windows Live/MSN Messenger on your system, you will still need to download their version and create an account. Your Microsoft, MSN, or Hotmail one won't work for signing in. Also, remember to click on RUN_AFTER_INSTALL.exe, in order to patch the program to the Escargot server.

My friends had been messing around with #escargotChat -- Which if you don't know, is a fan-revival of the old #msnMessenger with a pirate server.
It made me realise a few things about #UIdesign -- I feel like there were a lot of things that we allowed to become lost over the years. Things from computer programmes of the past that were super clever and we should have kept around.
Chiefly here, I wish modern applications weren't so terrified of opening more than one window.
Having your contacts list be a separate window that you can minimise and flick around saves a lot of screen real estate. And while having each conversation be its own window is wasteful, maybe a web-browser like system where you have tabs but can drag them out into their own window would be nice.
Heck, most modern applications are just web browser tabs in disguise anyway. So why not?
Also frutiger aero gradients are inherently prettier than modern flat-everything design, but I thought that'd go without saying as something outright obvious -
Finally got my #EscargotChat account back. If you're on their and wish to add me, I'm [email protected].
