I'm sorry if this has confused anyone. I do/did enjoy Friendica and Akkoma, and they do work with Tweesecake and TWBlue, respectively, , but the main sites have accessibility issues. Old Opera
This is a subreddit for those who love, or are even curious about, opera and its singers from the 1950's and earlier. Feel free to ask questions, share reviews and links, and discuss this wonderful genre of music and the singers and composers who brought it to life. Everyone, from beginners to experts, is welcome.

Blind and Fine
If you want to join apositive subreddit for the blind, try r/BlindandFine. The subject matter is far less strict than at r/blind, since not everything needs to be related to blindness. This is more of a place where we can get to know each other and have fun. We allow sighted people to join as well, and we welcome questions about blindness if they are genuine, requests for feedback on surveys or technology about/for the blind, etc. However, I do ask that you join only if you are eighteen or older. Please also note that this is not a therapy/support group. If you need that, then r/blind is for you. I am not an administrator there, only of Blind and Fine.

Share opinions and recipes, ask questions, etc. If you must post pictures, please describe them or write a post containing text so that those of us who cannot see will know what it's about. the following is a brief description of a subreddit that I created today. I have included the accessibility and blind tags because MSN Messenger is extremely accessible with screen readers and I believe that more blind people should know about this. I believe AIM may work as well, but I haven't tried it. Obviously, it works for the sighted as well.

This works with Windows XPthrough 11, and I'm logged into it as I write! It's called Escargot, and it revives Windows Live/MSN Messenger. This is the original software, but it has been patched so that it connects to the escargot.chat server and not the Microsoft one. It is 100% free and accessible with NVDA and I'm sure JAWS as well. They also have projects for AIM (AOL Instant Messenger) and ICQ, including for Android and IOS, and are working on a web client for MSN. (I don't know if AIM or ICQ are accessible with screen readers, as I have never tried them). @itsfoss I tired to like Skype as some of my friends used it and they wasn't flexible to use #MSNMessenger.

My impression was that it was slower and less comfortable than :pplmsn: It had ugly ads, and no games. Its video compression engine was told superior over :pplmsn: but I've never experienced any difference on the webcams of that decade.

I was frustrated when it killed :pplmsn: I've never seen a company that used Skype for Business after Lync (:pplmsn: 4 business) was replaced too.

Itse asiassa juuri tuossa sovelluksessa sisko käytti nimimerkkiä kaurapuuro, josta sainkin idean omaan nimimerkkiin ja siitä tuli mustikkasoppa.

@awesomecast @sorgatron I'd not heard of #Plurk until now! For me it was #LiveJournal. I didn't bother with #MySpace. And #IRC was always running, as well as #MSNmessenger a lot of the time.

My friends had been messing around with #escargotChat -- Which if you don't know, is a fan-revival of the old #msnMessenger with a pirate server.

It made me realise a few things about #UIdesign -- I feel like there were a lot of things that we allowed to become lost over the years. Things from computer programmes of the past that were super clever and we should have kept around.

Chiefly here, I wish modern applications weren't so terrified of opening more than one window.

Having your contacts list be a separate window that you can minimise and flick around saves a lot of screen real estate. And while having each conversation be its own window is wasteful, maybe a web-browser like system where you have tabs but can drag them out into their own window would be nice.

Heck, most modern applications are just web browser tabs in disguise anyway. So why not?

Also frutiger aero gradients are inherently prettier than modern flat-everything design, but I thought that'd go without saying as something outright obvious
