No matter how #Accessible I build our games, I still run into trouble setting up situations for screenshots for both App Store and Play Store submissions. #VoiceOver doesn't play very nicely with the #Xcode Simulator app, and I kept forgetting to turn #TalkBack off when capturing Android through the Terminal with ADB. #Codex surprised me by being able to create simulator setups for both platforms and actively play both games to help me get just the right screenshots for both #iOS and Android. It was both amazing and a little creepy just hearing my game sounds coming from my computer as the AI enjoyed itself making words capturing screens, pausing and ending the games, and even setting up the 3X bonus situation. So, pretty cool? Big emphasis on that question mark.

Any #blind #android #talkback users know where I can find the keyboard designed for blind users? Gboard is painful

So #Facebook on #Android has almost entirely broken for #Blind users relying on #Talkback, the menu force opens when focus lands on it and traps, and you cannot activate almost anything without it jumping back to the home tab and trying to create a story instead. Maybe for a change @nationsblind will do something about this now instead of waiting 6-12 months for it to appear on #iOS…

As I say, you shouldn't notice any difference in behaviour on this screen. I haven't seen any in my testing, #TalkBack behaves the same, etc. But if you do then please let me know.

- Move handle's content description close to end of post #TalkBack descriptions
- Only add attachment accessibility actions if attachments are present
- Don't read out polls or media descriptions behind content warning
- Update tab contents when moved
- Prevent crashes when viewing an account, cropping images
- Prevent cursor jumping around when editing alt text

Well I have to say since switching to Android one thing I have noticed, is that you can have an image described right from the TalkBack menu which is really nice. So far I have found this extremely convenient. Especially when browsing some photos on here that may not always have all the text in them. What I'm wondering is if I can have it describe photos I've uploaded or copy said description and paste it into the alt text field? I think I'll spend some time trying to figure that out later today. #accessibility #talkback hashtag Android #ios

Two other #talkback improvements.

1. Posts with a closed content warning now only read the post's content after the content warning is opened.

2. Any quoted posts are now read properly.

The latest #Pachli Current (3.4.0+29a96332) is rolling out now with some notification improvements

1. Notifications about a post will always include the "action bar" under the post so you can reply, bookmark, quote, etc directly from the notifications view.

2. #accessible #talkback actions have been added, and the descriptions have been improved to provide a better experience.

PSA for Android devs using Jetpack Compose with TalkBack: ExposedDropdownMenuBox breaks linear swipe navigation order. It creates internal Surface nodes with isTraversalGroup = true, which makes TalkBack sort your dropdowns into completely wrong positions in the swipe order — even though explore-by-touch works fine.
The fix: replace ExposedDropdownMenuBox with plain Box + DropdownMenu. You lose the auto-width matching (easy to add
back with onGloballyPositioned) but gain an accessibility tree that actually works.
isTraversalGroup on parent sections didn't help either — the rogue groups inside the Material component override it.

Mein #FDroidBasic gibt mir seit gestern die Info, dass auf meinem #grapheneOS #Pixel6 die APP #talkback nicht aktualisiert werden kann. Die empfohlene Deinstallation klappt nicht, auch nicht unter dem Besitzer Profil.
