  1. Denver Post: One Reddit user ousted, and a ‘reign’ over a Louisville online community ends. “In the Louisville subreddit, some users said the former moderator had used the group in an attempt to push a political message, with one saying they are ‘a libertarian who didn’t even live in Louisville and had taken over several small town subs.'”

  11. Here are two very different subreddits that I created and administrate.

This is a subreddit for those who love, or are even curious about, opera and its singers from the 1950's and earlier. Feel free to ask questions, share reviews and links, and discuss this wonderful genre of music and the singers and composers who brought it to life. Everyone, from beginners to experts, is welcome.

    reddit.com/r/OldOpera/

If you want to join apositive subreddit for the blind, try r/BlindandFine. The subject matter is far less strict than at r/blind, since not everything needs to be related to blindness. This is more of a place where we can get to know each other and have fun. We allow sighted people to join as well, and we welcome questions about blindness if they are genuine, requests for feedback on surveys or technology about/for the blind, etc. However, I do ask that you join only if you are eighteen or older. Please also note that this is not a therapy/support group. If you need that, then r/blind is for you. I am not an administrator there, only of Blind and Fine.

This decision didn’t come out of the blue, though. The company had announced its plans to remove r/all in December, before doing so in January (though it called this an ‘experiment’). It also removed r/all from users accessing the site […]

  20. Comprehensive list of fanfiction resources

Hi everyone. I'm trying to compile a comprehensive list of fanfiction resources—sites, forums, tools, communities… I've got a starter list from my own browsing, but I know I'm missing a lot. I'd appreciate your input.

    I'm especially interested in:

    • Sites or tools that recommend fanfics based on your feedback or ratings (like a "if you liked this, try this" engine).
    • Sites, forums, or communities specifically for dark fics, or for progression/system/gamer/litrpg fics.
    • Other hidden gem forums, niche archives for specific fandoms, or lesser-known tracking/discovery tools.

Here's what I have so far:

    General Forums/Archives:

    Fandom-Specific/Specialty Hubs:

    Tools, Databases, & Discovery:

    Communities (Reddit/Discord/Other):

    Personal tracking lists:

    Misc

    Fandoms with progression fantasy system

    • Danmachi
    • Konosuba
    • Solo Leveling

Thanks in advance for helping build this out. I think a lot of us would find it useful.

Maybe you’ve overlooked a powerful platform sitting right under your nose: Reddit. Yes, the “front page of the internet” can be a game-changer for graphic designers.

Reddit isn’t just for memes and cat videos. It’s a thriving hub of niche communities, including a vibrant and supportive design community. You might be surprised at the wealth of resources and opportunities it offers. And speaking of supportive communities, have you heard of r/Design_WATC? It’s our very own Reddit community. It’s a fantastic place where designers connect, share work, and get valuable feedback. Consider subscribing! You won’t regret it. Imagine having access to instant critiques, learning about the latest trends, and even finding your next client – all in one place. Sound too good to be true? Keep reading, and you might just change your mind about Reddit.

Why Should Graphic Designers Care About Reddit?

Reddit provides so many things for designers. It fosters a unique sense of community. It offers practical learning opportunities. But are these really that valuable? Let’s be honest, it depends on how you use it. And for graphic designers, the potential benefits are immense. From honing skills to networking and even showcasing work, Reddit can be an invaluable tool.

Instant Feedback: Sharpen Your Design Skills on Reddit

One of the biggest advantages of using Reddit for graphic design is the availability of instant feedback. Subreddits dedicated to critique, such as r/DesignCritiques, offer a space to share your work. You can receive constructive criticism from other designers. This feedback can be invaluable for identifying areas for improvement and refining your skills. Are you stuck on a project? Post it. Are you unsure about a color palette? Ask for opinions. The community is ready to help. This is the same philosophy we practice over at r/Design_WATC, so you’ll feel right at home.

This instant feedback loop helps designers grow. It accelerates the learning process. It can offer insights that you might not have considered otherwise. Remember, though, be prepared to receive both positive and negative feedback. Embrace the criticism as an opportunity to learn and evolve.
