Software development is disrupted every few months. In this new #AI- and #quantum-driven world, we must constantly rethink what types of software systems need to be developed, who will be in charge of developing them (humans, machines, or both) and how they can be built given their ever growing complexity. To address this challenge, we propose the adoption of #lowcode and #nocode approaches. By focusing on high-level models rather than direct programming, systems can be verified, validated and tested earlier, reducing the risk of building the wrong software. We will illustrate this approach with BESSER, our own open-source low-code platform for creating all types of hybrid systems. BESSER also embraces #vibemodeling, where AI is used to partially generate and refine specifications from natural-language descriptions, further #democratizing software development.

  2. random #thought but if your idea of a #worker's #state requires a "#vanguard #party" to carry out the will of a group of #leaders rather than actually convincing #people to #work together then maybe you aren't actually interested in worker solidarity and #democratizing the #workplace

  3. "I've long been frustrated at the way that #techbros claim to be #democratizing things like #accessToAI or "access to information". It always seems to be deployed as an excuse for hoarding data…

My rejoinder has been: "#Democracy means #sharedgovernance, not just broad access. Where is your system for allowing everyone represented in that data to have a say about how it is collected, stored, and used?"

  4. The European political class is in denial, narrowing the circle of political options. #EU’s decline is tied to its submission to neoliberalism and #US strategies, causing a lack of leadership on key issues.

The challenges include #EcologicalTransition, knowledge, culture, social cohesion, #diversity, and #peace. European parties are not addressing these problems, and overcoming denial requires reinventing the EU, #democratizing institutions, or seeking alternatives.

  7. @ai6yr @pixel @davew Amen! Instant back button...

Disabling integrated bird authentication is another part of deplatforming the #Muskrat's platform.

Might not matter to some, but for a great many of us that flew in the migration, the idea of the #fediverse has also become a rallying point for #democratizing social media and to actually fight directly against the Bigs for control of our digital spaces.

For me, I'm excited about being part of something important for the first time in years
