Speaking of Airborne Toxic Events, the only thing #deLillo got wrong in the novel from which I've borrowed the phrase ('White Noise') is that instead of a single region it's an entire continent that's involved, and ultimately, the globe itself.

W/chapters in between on #Poe, #ElizabethStuartPhelps, and #Dreiser. A different through-line, to be sure. Just finished reading #Delillo's #WhiteNoise and it may be the whitest book about white people i've ever read. Whiteness like some sticky goo that has oozed onto everything. Consumer academic health philosophical whiteness. Damn. Very good book. Now on to the movie. I'm excited for the movie.

I was pleasantly not disppointed by the #film adaptation of White Noise. This, in spite of it being kinda quirky & charming. Which...isn't really my take on #DeLillo, in general.
Gonna have to go back and rewatch Cosmopolis now. My memory of it was it being somewhat 'meh'. But apparently I rated it 4 out of 5 stars at the time. Hrmph. Perhaps Cronenberg tricked me. Or gave me brain-worms. #movies

I'm starting my day watching #WhiteNoise. I didn't care for the book. Partially bc I was madly in love with #DeLillo's #Underworld & they're very different. If I had a Franzen itch, White Noise would scratch it. Speaking - I had NO idea #TheCorrections was already made into a film?!! Imdb says 2012. (I did love this book). And look who the director is.
