1. The students were blown away; gutted was the word used.
2. We talked about how the narrative weaves together stream of consciousness (non-linear) with an extreme discipline (linearity).
3. One student remarked on the effect of Didion saying she picked out her wedding dress on the day JFK was murdered. A juxtaposition that packed a wallop.

1. Played Erik #Satie's Gymnopédie 1, which the students didn't know (it plays in one of Eric Packer's elevators!)
2. Talked about ALL the #art in the novel: Not only Satie, but also #Rothko, rap, film.
3. Discussed the novel in relation to critiquing binaries; advancing a theory of asymmetry.
