Does anyone remember #BookCrossing? I wonder if it is still a thing. 📖
It was about leaving a book in a public place so that it would be found by a stranger. You would attach a label to the book prior to its 'release' that included a unique code called BCID (http://bookcrossing.com/howto). So when found, the person would hopefully enter the code in the #BookCrossing Website and it would create a trail of the book, which eventually should be 'released' for the next person. Or something like that...
I remember leaving quite a few books in park benches. But I never received a ping about their location, so I supposed they were lost or thrown to the garbage.
Anyway, it seems that they are trying something somewhat similar in the #NSW town of #Braidwood, with the idea of motivating kids to read books 👍
