I'm making some more bread :3
This time it's a fairly normal wholegrain sourdough, except I added some shredded zucchini because we have a lot from #Foodsharing
Here are some pics of the dough from earlier

    Uhh also hashtags I guess? #bread #breadposting #sourdough
I'm sure someone can tell me which ones to use :D

  12. Dinner made with ingredients from #foodsharing pickups by @Akirakio Can you guess the one ingredient of this meal which we bought conventionally in a (bio) store? 😉

  13. @lpv Das wäre zu schön. Die Realität sind aber aufgeweichte Pappkartons mit allerlei "Kram", die dann zu Lasten aller (!) von der Stadtreinigung, die natürlich zu wenige Leute hat, entsorgt werden müssen.

P.S.: Ich teile gern. Bin bei #PumpiPumpe, nebenan.de, #Carsharing, #BookCrossing und #Foodsharing. Und ja, es macht Aufwand.

  17. @photogramm @nasamuffin

What's really disturbing is the trend for #vegetarian / #vegan alternatives becoming superior/luxus products, hence getting packaged into smaller portions but with lots of plastic packaging around.

Got 200 vegan chicken filets from #foodsharing. Two each packaged into a blister, 117g. No there are no 500g oder 1kg packs. If you want to cook for 6 people, you need to buy 6 plastic packs.

  18. @aaron

  19. #NewZealand #Aotearoa - #CommunityPantry Locations

"Finding community pantries near me is becoming a priority for many New Zealand families navigating the rising cost of living and seeking to reduce food waste through community-led sharing initiatives. These #PātakaKai (food storehouses) operate on the principle of ‘take what you need, leave what you can,’ providing a vital safety net that fosters #manaakitanga (hospitality and care) within our diverse neighborhoods from Northland to Southland.

The concept of the community pantry has evolved rapidly in Aotearoa. What started as a few informal ‘#SharingSheds’ has grown into a sophisticated national network of Pātaka Kai.

In the current economic climate, #FoodInsecurity affects a broad demographic of New Zealanders. These pantries provide immediate, #BarrierFreeAccess to nutrition without the stigma often associated with traditional #WelfareQueues.

Moreover, these locations are hubs for #sustainability. By redirecting surplus #garden produce and supermarket ‘best-before’ items, they play a critical role in the #CircularEconomy of our local regions.

'The Pātaka Kai movement is more than just food; it is about restoring dignity to our communities and ensuring that no one goes hungry while our land produces so much abundance.' — Community Leader, NZ #FoodSovereignty Project.

    - Reduces local #FoodWaste significantly.
    - Strengthens neighborhood social ties.
    - Provides 24/7 access to emergency food supplies.
    - Encourages the sharing of home-grown organic produce."

  20. #NewZealand / #Aotearoa - Community Food Organisations

    #KoreHiakai - #ZeroHungerCollective

"Across Aotearoa New Zealand, communities are working together to support those who do not have access to healthy nutritious #AffordableFood. We have responded to this in a variety of ways, and are choosing to centre our map on those organisations providing immediate food assistance to #whānau. These include #CommunityMeals and #FreeStores, #FoodCoops operating a #lowcost or koha model for #FreshProduce, as well as more traditional #FoodBanks and #SocialSupermarkets offering food parcels, budgeting support and more."

Toha atu toha mai / I share with you, you share with me

"Crop Swap gatherings are for everyone who is happy to share. Just bring your garden's and kitchen's surplus, turn up in time (or even a little earlier to help with the set up), display your treasures nicely, walk around and admire your fellow crop swappers goodies, mix and mingle, share your best jam recipe and enjoy the presence of people who find joy in the moneyless exchange of #MotherNature's abundance. Once everyone is officially welcomed and the sharing is opened you are invited to mindfully take what you are interested in. Everything is there to go to a new home. Take your time and keep other's in mind, the slow ones, the children, the elders, so that everyone has the chance to fill their baskets with beautiful food. After this please help with the clean up, get home safely and tell everyone, how awesome it was. Next time, bring a friend!

    Find a crop swap

Starting a Crop Swap hub in your area is super easy. All you need is a venue and the people. Depending on your climate, the season and the people you want to share with a Crop Swap gathering can be anywhere, in a hall, a sports club, a school, a cafe, a garage, in a park, under a pavilion or even in your living room. To make it accessible for everyone it is good to have parking close by. To make it attractive for families consider a space where children can run around safely. Having tables and a few chairs available is helpful to accommodate the needs of people with different abilities. Once you found a venue (and don't get caught up in that too much as you can always change it) invite your future fellow crop swappers. Again, possibilities are endless. There are community newspapers, school newsletters, letter box leaflets, information boards in garden centres, shops, libraries and environment centres, emails, Facebook and, of course, good old word of mouth invitations. Set a date and time for your first gathering and enjoy the flow."

  23. #WellingboroughEcoGroup -
    #FoodSharers

"Food Sharers are focused on saving good food from going in the bin, and sharing food with people that want it. We’re not a food bank, we are purely a food reuse project that is open to anyone, and something that works for all ‘Food Sharers’ in the town that mutually benefits all organisations; and of course, benefiting people and planet too.

"We share food on Tuesdays between 12:00 and 6:00 and Thursdays between 10:00 and 2:00, at our #EcoHub at #SwanspoolPavilion, with surplus food from Food Sharers, retailers and community friends. We have lots of fresh fruit and veg, bread and other treats plus, the kettle’s on too if you fancy a coffee or tea! Your donations will also be shared with sharers!

"Food Sharers is a sharing community, it will evolve into a #CommunityFridge and food reuse café and it will include a food buying club for people to buy food in bulk from wholesalers. #Wellingborough Eco Group and ‘Food Sharers’ are not, nor will ever be a food bank. Food Sharers is simply a #FoodReuse project open to everyone.

Be a Food Sharer, share on Facebook at facebook.com/groups/foodsharer and at ECO HUB, Tuesdays 12-6 and Thursdays 10-2. Love food, hate waste, be a Food Sharer! "

  25. #LifecyclesProjectSociety #FruitTreeProject Update.

This year, we have harvested over 63,000 lbs of fruit! Of that, almost 32,000 lbs of Grade A fruit has been donated to the community, to over 70 community service agencies throughout the Greater Victoria Area. Our tree stewards have kept 4,500 lbs, and our amazing team of 191 Harvest Leads and Pickers have taken 13,000 lbs home.

What about the other 13,500 lbs you ask?

Made up of B-Grade, we have processed just over 7500 lbs into juice and jam. Some of the fruit is always C-Grade (compost). To date, we have composted just under 6000 lbs of fruit - while some of this has gone to our friends at Community Composting, the vast majority has gone to a local pig farmer.

We are proud to say no fruit has gone into the landfill!
