#Blackberries harvest time. I just wanted to collect wild berries. Only a handfull of berries has survived. 98% are burnt by the heat of the last days, dried, before they were big enough. 35°C in absolute shadow.

in less than a year... two plotters.. asked me what are blackberries for!! good grief!! one, an immigrant, was amazed when I told him they're edible and delicious, he made a disgusted face.... the other a local with the plot right next to mine, also asked what are they for. I said they're edible and delicious and grown all around you; offered one fruit from a box I'd just filled in from the nearby bushes, she made a face and refused.Goodness gracious me. I rest my case. Am not telling them am having a handful of them in goat yogurt, for breakfast, lest they run away in fright.
Picked up some new potatoes over a couple of weeks; thanks to blackbirds digging for worms, they pull them up clean and tidy. nice.
