  1. i hate my disabilities. cuz of my dumb brain i prolly will never be able to participate in MAPs (those cool group animation thingies), for example. cuz i cant simplify my art to make it into a proper animation plus i cant draw lineart - i only paint. 'tis all my bitchy brain which just doesnt allow me to do it, on the physical level. it sucks so much cuz usually people find simplifying and linearts a lot easier and cuz of my shiteload of traumas i've the opposite >_> and nay, i cant train myself to do it. cuz i've tried. and tried. and failed again and again. ig it'll get fixed on its own only if my brain will heal which is never gonna happen cuz ig 'tis not even traumas - just how this bitch works. it sucks, it annoys me, it makes me feel sad and miserable. i fucking cant have fun with cool people just cuz i cant fucking simplify things, tf is wrong with me!

  2. feeling how burnout gets the fuck outta my mind is always so... healing lol. like, at first i feel some light inspiration, then some urge to draw. but if i draw - i will scare it away. so i have to rest from art more, but this inspiration grows day by day and then i can like enjoy art for hourrrrs and it feels just sooooooo good.

  3. i should learn to draw on such canvas sizes that fit into web without being shrank. no one wants to download it onto their pc to look at details. it has no sense, no point. why the fuck am i doint it at all, am tired of it myself tbh. just dunno how to stop. it would fr make it all easier. yet i choose huge canvases and prolly 'tis to have more room to fix mistakes and to overdetail it all - 'tis all cPTSD actually >_> fuuuuuck, fixing it will take lots of effort, i wish all such traumas to just disappear and stop poisoning my life ._______.

    < Payment for digital art.
Stripe (or Square?) for artists as an alternative to PayPal. >

So, I’ll have to open commissions (aka art for money) one day soon. And am not gonna use PayPal cuz I’ve read too many stories how they screw up artists and just all the people plus I remember that they expose billing address (which is fuckinh insane, I hope they burn for it, where the fuck is my privacy and protection?!).

So, I’ve encountered that lots of artists use Stripe. It’s even used on Lorepository and other platforms. Also something called Square was mentioned as well.
So, my question is: are these anyhow better than PayPal or should I just stick to Monero (and get no commissions lmao, the main reason am researching this stuff is that no one’s gonna pay in crypto for art and it all angers and saddens me af tbh)? I would like the payment system to not farm my data, to not screw me up (am disabled, dysfunctional, our family’s having real hard times and we might not even survive this year, am not gonna allow some bitchass platform to screw me over fr), to not disclose billing information to the paying person or any other platform. If anything, I don’t draw NSFW or any adult content so I doubt I’ll get banned for porn but if a money processing platform bans NSFW artists it’s an inhumane and unsafe platform anyways…

Does this toot sound angry? Aye I bet it does. Cuz am very fuckinh angry, frustrated, upset and at my fuckong limit. I fucking dunno how to survive this fuckass capitalism, I’m almost giving up and all this shite only adds up to stress and concerns!

Or I fucking dunno, if all of the platforms are like this, how the fuck are you folks getting money for digital art? Like, queer persons, minorities, endangered persons, etc? How the fuck do you protect your data and your money, from harmful bitches, scammers, big tech and those platforms themselves?

And aye, am all about spreading kindness and I do love people dearly, but am no delusional and fully aware that scammers exist alongside with big tech and every other bitch out there. They’re kinda the reason I choose to not be like them ig.

  5. opinion on art

i just wrote it on Krita forum as a reply to some person about their frustration of being "not a real artist" and i wanna toot it here as well cuz honestly i wanna buy the ads all over the world just to show this my opinion to people n to make them rethink their relationship with art.
i actually planned a video with animations and some drawing processes recorded and included, about this whole opinion of mine, but i doubt i gonna make it anytime soon if at all.

so, the whole thing goes as follows:
well am aware that many will disagree with me, but i kinda don’t care. in short, my opinion is that art is about expression, personal stuff and enjoyment. it is not about skills and i personally dont like the concept of all those academic teachings as in my honest opinion the only form of teaching when it comes to art is about sharing your own ways of doing things. i dont believe in “skills” in such a thing as art as it is not about skills at all imho. art is not a labour, it is exactly what it is - art. ofc people who draw for money will disagree but i hate to see how art is made into just commercial thing, it is so wrong imo. i follow the idea of being satisfied with art personally as it is exactly a personal thing. so i myself try to perfect the things in art that make me satisfied. it includes watching how others draw, researches, experiments. in the end, it is really how you enjoy expressing yourself.

so, my suggestion here will be quite simple: find out what you dont like in your art and then try to “fix” it by changing the way you draw till you feel more satisfaction from it.

forcing yourself into drawing constantly and pressing yourself about such a thing as art (and basically any hobby in general) will most likely lead to a burnout, i will recommend not doing so. in my own experience, i almost quit a few of my hobbies cuz of this always recommended practice. art is about how you feel and express yourself, it is for you to enjoy - not to torture yourself. so, my other suggestion will be to start drawing what you enjoy the moment you notice you started to get frustrated with the current piece. to regain control and prove to your brain that you actually do love art and it is not a torturous activity.

  7. You really have to zoom in, but: all the green-blues of a nocturne, & they way they tunnel into the chest. I went to an Australian Impressionists exhibition & it was so striking, the way the chalk-and-sand daylight pieces looked backlit, & how the nocturnes seemed let into the wall. #artthoughts

  8. Witness the mesmerizing interplay of light and shadow in Alphonse Legros' "Landschap met regenwolken en twee bukkende figuren." The figures, almost lost in the vast landscape, evoke deep contemplation. How does nature shape our emotions?

  9. Leave comments to your fave artists that you love their stuff. Comment on their page/website/socials- even dm them if you're shy, but just tell them you love what they are creating. I dm creator friends' comments all the time because their fandoms scare me 🤣 #webcomics #artists #artthoughts

  10. Erwin Olaf’s "Grijze doos voor serie foto's Rain" challenges perception with its minimalist approach, inviting a contemplative exploration of emotions captured within the confines of a gray box. How does this piece resonate with your own experiences of the unexpected?

  11. Ink drawing. You can destroy it at every stage, in every moment. Last stroke may be one too much. And you still need to be brave enough to put it and see for yourself, experiment. Try it out, give it to your children, do it together. #artThoughts #ink #sumie

  12. If you’re overwhelmed with possibilities of digital tools and emptiness of the white artificial canvas, try ink, brush and a cheap*, textured paper. *cheap enough so it doesn’t block you from using it freely. #artThoughts

  15. Kinda in this weird situation where I've rarely had the energy to work on more comic pages so I've instead been drawing my OCs out of context to keep practicing in-between, but now every comic page looks a little *too* different from the rest cause I'm getting better at drawing my OCs and it's not happening gradually throughout the comic pages so it looks like my characters are drawn inconsistently, and I'm so proud of the progress I see but the comic feels so silly all together lol. Like, dude, I barely have the energy to keep drawing the few pages I've already drawn throughout the last few months; I'm not gonna have the energy to go back and redraw every other page just so it looks the same. So... Yeah. Sorry about that lmao

I was recently asked, "is it easier for you to draw something from a photograph, rather than the physical object? Is that why you are taking reference photos?"

The answer is twofold, I don't have a lot table space in my studio to have a still life set up near me. Plus, there's also the issue of my furry studio assistant who would gladly run off with a feather first chance she gets. 🖤

  24. Update on the drawing backgrounds question:
I think I'll spend a few practice sessions on doing photostudies of bedrooms.
Why bedrooms? If it is not a hotel-like bedroom, I'll have all sorts of shadowplay on the blankets and cussions. So lots of practice on soft and hard shadows that are usefull for different objects.
I already did 3 today, might share them sooner or later. But finding stock photos of such bedrooms is difficult.
