    Grundsätzlich ist #shadowbanning #Geoblocking als auch #ContentModeration auch im #Fediverse möglich. Wie weit das praktiziert wird ist von den Regeln und Moderatoren der jeweiligen Instanz abhängig.

    Der Unterschied zu zentralisierten Plattformen: Es gibt keinen globalen Algorithmus der stillschweigend herunterstuft. Wenn Du irgendwo nicht auftauchst, liegt das meistens an der Entscheidung von Moderatoren einer bestimmten Instanz.

    Bei #Mastodon können Moderatoren einzelne Konten oder auch ganze Instanzen 'limitieren'. Beiträge sind dann nur für direkte Follower sichtbar und tauchen nicht in Timelines, Suchen oder Hashtags auf. Dies kommt im Fediverse einem Shadowbanning im eigentlichen Sinn am nächsten.

    Auf Instanz-Ebene ist es möglich fremde Instanzen komplett zu blocken (defederieren). Dann kommen die Beiträge der geblockten Instanz bei der blockierenden Instanz gar nicht mehr an.

    Geoblocking ist eher unüblich und es ist auch nicht Teil des #ActivityPub Protokolls. Gesetze könnten Betreiber zwingen Inhalte in bestimmten Ländern nicht auszuiefern.
    Da aber jede Instanz eigenständig ist, betrifft auch Geoblocking immer nur diese eine Instanz (Server) und nicht das gesamte Netzwerk. Die selben Inhalte sind in der Regel über eine andere Instanz weiterhin erreichbar.
