I've become very News Lite as the 21st century continues. Most of the traditional news media is heavily influenced by their advertisers. I have several indie Canadian news sources including #Taproot (#YEG), @thetyee, and #CanadasNationalObserver.A lot of the current events that hit the news appear here, including the bloody ear incident. That filtered version is enough for me but if something really piques my interest, I search for more info.

People say #Trump or #Biden makes no difference... for #white #people perhaps. On the other hand, Trump 2.0 will rain down hell on #immigrants, particularly #Muslims and #Latinos. Trump brags about #MassDeportations. Remember the #ICE raids? Many more #POC will be swept up in the next one.
In addition to #StateViolence #authoritarians establish a #PermissionStructure of #violence against disfavored groups. During the last Trump administration, #MassShootings of minorities and synagogues was rampant. I'm voting for #Biden2024 not because I'm a fan, but because I am thinking of all the people Trump will hurt in the US. #Voting one's #conscience in the #2024Election is a choice between a soiled conscience or a dead one.

Maybe? I hope they get implemented in such a way that they won't be suitable for abuse (which is why we haven't had them until now).
I also wonder how they will be implemented within #AcrivityPub and how they'll look on non-mastodon instances, as I'm not actually on Mastodon (I'm on GoToSocial).
P.S., I always found it humorous to hear people aggravatedly clamoring for "Feature Y from Xitter," since I clearly remember when Twitter had:
- No pictures
- No videos
- No (automated) retweets
- No actual repiles!!!

Seit dem 15.10.2025 wird ein 67-Jähriger aus Kraichtal vermisst. Er verließ an diesem Tag offenbar gegen 06:30 Uhr seine Wohnanschrift mit einem schwarzen, älteren Herren-Fahrrad und ist seither unbekannten Aufenthalts.
⚠️ Es kann nicht ausgeschlossen werden, dass sich der Vermisste in einer hilflosen Lage befindet. ⚠️
Er soll zuletzt gegen 09:30 Uhr im Bereich des Spielplatzes „Alla Hopp Anlage“ am westlichen Stadtrand von Edenkoben in Rheinland-Pfalz gesehen worden sein.
