I just found pristine KryoFlux streams for the 5.25inch 360K Blockout diskette and thus upgraded my personal library, as well as this entry on the Internet Archive. Blockout is a true icon of 80s retro gaming!

Naja, manchmal kann man einfach auch Pech. Hab gerade heute diesen Satz SpaceQuest III für Amiga aus der Post geholt. Leider gab es massive Lesefehler, die ich nicht beseitigen konnte.

Glücklicherweise hatte ich schon Vergleichs-Daten, die ich zur Verifizierung herannehmen konnte. Bis auf die Lesefehler sind die Disketten exakt identisch. So kann man dann zumindest den 600dpi Scan mit einem intakten ADF Image zusammenbringen. 😎 😉

One of the coolest floppy disks in my retro collection: The original Space Quest from 1987 for the Commodore Amiga, where this legendary adventure game actually supported mouse control! The 880K diskette is copy protected, but thanks to pristine KryoFlux streams and the CT RAW disk image format, the game does work flawlessly on the WinUAE emulator! I'm still loving this in 2026!

Na, da soll doch nochmal einer sagen, es würde sich nicht auch mal lohnen, Disketten zu putzen! Ich hatte diesen speziellen Datenträger im Grunde schon aufgegeben, aber nach der vorsichtigen Reinigung mit einem weichen, feuchten Tuch ließ sich anschließend alles wieder sauber auslesen. SimCity 2000 für den klassichen Macintosh. Hurrrahhh! 😃

Hab tatsächlich lange überlegt, ob ich das hier überhaupt hochladen sollte:

Eine noch unfertige, nur für PC-Hersteller bestimmte OEM-Boot-Diskettenvorlage für Windows 95 SR-2. Noch ohne CD-ROM-Treiber, aber mit Anleitungen und OEM-Hinweisen zur Installation in AUTOEXEC.BAT, CONFIG.SYS und DRVCOPY.INF durch den jeweiligen OEM-Partner.

Kopiert man eine funktionierende SAMPLE.SYS Treiberdatei auf die Diskette, funktioniert sie einwandfrei. Viele Hersteller passten eine solche Diskette aber natürlich noch weiter an.

Hier gibt es nun auch noch die Windows 95 OEM CD-ROM des SR-2.1 aus dem Jahre 1997, sowie eine dazu kompatible Boot-Diskette mit CD-ROM-Treibern verschiedener Hersteller. Das Windows 95, Service Release 2.1 unterstützte bereits FAT32, Partitionen über einer Größe von 2GB, sowie grundlegende USB-Treiber. Die Boot-Diskette liegt sowohl als .img Disk Image, als auch in Form sauberer KryoFlux Streams vor.

Die volle 32-Bit Power! Nach längerer Suche hab' ich es diese Woche endlich geschafft, eine vollständige, deutsche Diskettenversion von Windows 95 zu ergattern und alle Floppies erfolgreich per KryoFlux auszulesen. Hochgeladen wurden jetzt sämtliche IMG Images und RAW Streams, sowie hochauflösende JPEG-Scans sämtlicher 19 Datenträger. Hab heute nochmal einen sauberen Diskettensatz von Microsoft Word 6.0 für Windows 3.1 bekommen und erfolgreich ausgelesen und auch testweise installiert. Diesmal handelt es sich um die Update-Version aus dem Jahre 1993, die vor der Installation nach älteren Fassungen des Programms sucht. Meine Disketten von Winword 2.0b wurden zum Glück problemlos akzeptiert.

It took some work and careful cleaning, but in the end, I eventually managed to get good reads from these "Zak McKracken" diskettes. This is the German EGA version from 1988 for IBM-PC. 🙂

Ufff! Hab heute Abend jetzt doch noch was produktives hinbekommen:

Mit ein bisschen Mühe und KryoFlux konnte ich diese schöne 5 1/4 Zoll Version von Microsoft Word für Windows 2.0b aus dem Jahr 1993 vollständig auslesen und als saubere Images abspeichern. Insgesamt neun Disketten. Das Programm müsste ab Windows 3.0 funktionieren. So viele Erinnerungen! 😃

J'ai testé une image de disque "historique" : Disque_Laurent_3 , à l'origine une disquette 5 1/4 du Tavernier 6809 sur laquelle j'avais sauvé des programmes il y a fort fort longtemps (on voit les dates des fichiers dans le terminal de droite 😱 )
J'avais au préalable dumpé la disquette avec la carte #kryoflux puis converti en fichier .img (raw sectors) avec HxC
