Oh, wow! There were so many different versions of SimCity graphics sets! Ancient or Future Cities… US, as well as European editions… Versions for Amiga 512K or 1 meg. The IBM-PC versions were also released on 3.5“ or 5.25“ diskettes. And, I guess, there were Macintosh versions, too. I personally only have these 4 boxes.

I always find it super interesting to look at the floppy disk image collection from TotalDOSCollection and its folder sizes. Each year's size gives you a very acurate idea how games on floppy disks reached their peak in 1993/94 and then quickly vanished.

Naja, manchmal kann man einfach auch Pech. Hab gerade heute diesen Satz SpaceQuest III für Amiga aus der Post geholt. Leider gab es massive Lesefehler, die ich nicht beseitigen konnte.
Glücklicherweise hatte ich schon Vergleichs-Daten, die ich zur Verifizierung herannehmen konnte. Bis auf die Lesefehler sind die Disketten exakt identisch. So kann man dann zumindest den 600dpi Scan mit einem intakten ADF Image zusammenbringen. 😎 😉

So, jetzt kam ich am Ende des Tages auch noch dazu, die MadTV Diskette für den Amiga ins Internet Archive hochzuladen. Auch wenn die Diskette jetzt tatsächlich mal nicht kopiergeschützt ist, habe ich auch trotzdem sämtliche Disk Image Formate dazugepackt, die ich hatte. Also KryoFlux Streams, CTRAW und das normale ADF Disk Image.

Konnte heute Abend eine weitere der Heft-Disketten aus der Reihe "Amiga Spiele Disc" ergattern und auslesen. Es handelt sich um Ausgabe Nr. 9 mit dem Spiel "MadTV". Über ein automatisches AmigaDOS-Skript lassen sich hiermit die vollwertigen, bootfähigen Datenträger des Spiels erzeugen.

Die alte Diskette für den A500 funktioniert noch super und per AmigaDOS Skript konnte ich mir zwei Spieldisketten von Maniac Mansion erzeugen. Wieder ein schönes Teil für die Sammlung! 😉
