I have been relying on using Keurig coffee for the past few weeks and I really miss me some french press. Hell, I would take some super basic drip in a pinch.
So, today, I went out and bought a couple of bags of coffee beans and a french press (mine didn't make it in the move). As a bonus, the beans are from Mad Priest Coffee, a local group and they're socially and environmentally responsible and seem to have a good sense of humor.
Anyways, I am totally looking forward to getting up tomorrow morning.

I forgot to take my Seroquel last night. I lay in bed for hours not sleeping before I realized it. We'll just call it No-Sleep-Thursday.

I got a little distracted from moving and started tinkering with my server. With the recommendation of @petrosophia (Thank you!) I setup Komodo. I am glad I did. It is amazing! I'm sure I'm only scratching the surface with my newbie little docker compose files, but it is so helpful! I transferred each compose file directly into Komodo and it is super organized! I then got Pi-hole setup. Everything is organized wiith Homarr. I'm really happy with how everything is working.

TIL you can install the Arch Wiki offline on your computer with pacman. To do this, run:
sudo pacman -S arch-wiki-docs
This installs the wiki in html form on your system at:
/usr/share/doc/arch-wiki/html/en/
And can be read with your browser with:
file:///usr/share/doc/arch-wiki/html/en/Main_page.html
If you don't want the html version, you can also install arch-wiki-lite and use CLI or even wikiman - which is another amazing tool and works on/for other distros https://github.com/filiparag/wikiman?tab=readme-ov-file#additional-documentation-sources

I had to go to Wal-Mart because my current mouse died and I just needed something simple to get me by until I can get something better. I rarely go to Wal-Mart, but my small town has no other options. Anyways, I was standing in line for the one checkout register they had open and a man infront of me (very nice man with one arm) offered to let me go ahead. I graciously declined. I told him I wasn't using the self-checkout out of principle and was willing to wait. The woman in front of him gave me the craziest look, like I was an alien or something. I don't understand why this concept would be so foreign to someone, especially someone already standing in line for a cashier.
I don't use self checkout because they want to use it to hire less cashiers. They open less checkout lanes to force you to use the self-checkout. There is a lot of psychology to it.
Also, if I make a mistake and don't scan something by accident, I am at fault and can be prosecuted. They watch you like you're going to steal from them. I don't like it and would like to remove that part of the equation altogether.
I don't get a discount for scanning my own items. I get no benefit, other than not having to stand in line for their cashiers.

CW: Mental health - bipolar 1 disorder and mania
Tonight starts my journey on Seroquel. I'm taking it at bedtime because I read that it can knock you out. Basically since the start of the summer I have been unmedicated for mental health, only taking some things for diabetes and UCTD. I have been in a very good manic state the entire time (completely positive experience) and even lost a lot of weight. I think finding Mastodon and writing a bunch has helped steer my mood in the right direction. I've never had a manic state last this long, especially with so few downsides.
The one thing I've been worried about, though, has been what happens if this mania turns negative or destructive. The only downside to my current state is I rarely sleep. Even though my body is super fatigued from the autoimmune disease, I'm wired wide awake all the time. I agreed yesterday it is probably best to go back on meds. I've been on most bipolar meds up to this point but never tried Seroquel because of the potential for weight gain. We will just have to see if my Mounjaro helps with that.

Why do we put up with this? I just want to install the game and play it without your stupid launcher and your stupid spyware. It is a single player game that doesn't need to go online. I'll just play something else.

I finally did it! After several months of navigating the challenges of deGoogling, I just deleted my Google account after 15+ years. I was deeply invested in the Google ecosystem, and it has not been easy. However, the journey has been worth it.
I've replaced everything I used from Google with FOSS options, and I'm already noticing the benefits, like increased privacy and control over my data. One of the biggest challenges was finding reliable alternatives, but I’ve discovered some fantastic tools along the way.
Have any of you made a similar switch? I’d love to hear your experiences or any recommendations you might have!
