For the recent live production, I hustled to get something special in as a finale to the covers set and a sneak preview. It was the end of a long show so I was a spent husk but it is pretty honest. There were a few late nights and over 20 vocal tracks already in there to start getting some of the massive layers of chorus, replies, uh and ohs.
So ahoy, with your help, in addition to an original album, there will indeed be a REPLICATE 2.0 cover album later this year and universe willing, I'm going bigger and if you can fathom, even more eclectic. I have managed to knock the candidate track list down from about 80 to this track and nine wildly varying friends.

This is a glitch and heavily bent and effected cut of a voice! I used it in the track Retribution which first appeared on an album in 2001 and I'm using it again for a 2026 remake. I like it as a sweep into and out of other rhythms and loops and bridges. It could be some sort of pulse weapon, or amp it up and slap it on a hair trigger IR sensor outside to serenade the neighbours.

The bed of noise from which yesterdays blip loops came from. It has a borked rhythm but def no solid tempo per say. Is it a broken farm machine? Is it broken furniture? Is it broken antiquated computer peripherals? Is it broken guitar pedals? Is it many of these things and more? Who knows?! Add more distortion. Add more reverb. Take micro and glitch bits out of context. Or chuck it on loop and scare/enrage the bejeebus out of your family/neighbours...

I make a lot of layered noise beds from field and found sounds, weird tape accidents and sometimes synths too. Chuck em thru some pedals and the broken VHS deck for flavour and spice. Then I cut tiny bits out and turn them into rhythms and melodies from absolutely not instruments. Here are some gritty blip loops of that nature.

For #jamuary I'm committed to making a bunch of sonic building blocks each day for myself and everyone. So I thought in the spirit of the month I'd post some bits each day in case you might use something in your jamuary journeys. Just a taste of what is dropping at the end of the month in the my latest sample library volume Broke and Dirt Volume 004. Mangled sounds and loops from the drum kit, synths, field recordings, many run thru the rusty trusty old VHS deck.
Day 1:

C2 performs live from the middle of nowhere to the feed proving anywhere can be an horrific industrial dystopia if you open up your little black heart and gloom hard enough!
Happily aligned with the more experimental fare from the Gravitons crew's party, we'll explore some newly re-worked old material, upcoming new material, traverse ye olde catalogue and while starting less dance and more noise and soundscape orientated, we'll definitely bring the rhythmic, cruise toward the powernoise and we'll probably end up on the drum kit for a cathartic industrial stomp. What darkness will the VHS decks and samplers unleash?
No matter how much chat may plead, there will be zero synthpop covers [separate show I hope]. Unless your neighbour would hate that as much as the noise and atmospheres, then challenge accepted! Maybe your neighbour is rad and will bring snacks.

In the late 90s I had a partially operable second hand portable MiniDisc that I would take to the music superstore and jack into drum machines and synths to build samples. I distinctly remember building the intro loops for this track in that manner.
