I'm starting a little public experiment. 🧪
I'm a complete non-programmer and I'm going to build a custom theme for Kirby CMS v5 — together with an LLM (Claude by Anthropic) as my coding partner. 😉
The goal: migrate my German blog kranzkrone.de from WordPress to Kirby, with a clean, minimalist design built (almost) from scratch.
Every step will be documented — the progress, the dead ends, the "why doesn't this work?!" moments. The code will be open on Codeberg. I'll blog about it and toot about it here.
If we hit a wall, I'll just show the code to someone who knows more. That's the beauty of building in public. 🙂
Proof of concept: how far can a curious amateur get in tandem with a powerful AI?

@kirb I'd imagine people have been reporting this for awhile, but #LegacyUpdate setup seems broken on Win2k. I get an error message saying "Failed to register Legacy Update ActiveX control: Access is denied." near the end of the install. Happens on a fresh Win2k SP4 installation, both with VMs and real machines.
Any known workaround?

Question aux pros de Kirby CMS !
J’ai fait un site avec beaucoup d’images volumineuses qui sont servies « à la bonne taille » par Kirby avec la fonction crop(). Jusque là super, sauf qu'en prod certaines images (pas toutes) ne sont pas prises en compte et je me retrouve avec quelques miniatures de 5333 px de large (et plus de 1 Mo) au lieu des 1000 px demandés, ce qui est évidemment hautement pénalisant.
Des idées sur ce qui se passe ?

New Read - Kirby Manga Mania, Volume 8
As always, the Kirby manga is so incredibly!
For those who don't know, the Kirby manga is a gag, slice of life manga set in the Dreamlands with Kirby, King Dedede, and assorted other characters from the games getting into silly situations.
This volume is no different. So goofy, so silly, so weird.
My favorite moment was Kirby losing it when he can't his disposable chopsticks don't cleanly snap.
Anyway, if you like goofy gag manga with Kirby characters, check it out. If not, wellp...not for you.

I've managed to get a few small chores done. Heck, I even managed a proper meal this time. 😊 Bas and I visited the Herperduin with a good friend and her dog, and I think it's safe to say that it was enjoyable for all! Although Bas was doing his Dachshund thing again, going all the ways but the right one! 😂

I almost managed to finish 7 books this month! I was so close to the last one, I think my Kobo says I have about 20 minutes to go... So I guess that will be my first book for February. I shared my toots about the books on my PlaystationPixy account, with the tag #BooksIn2026. And this Monday, my toots are going "live" in the first monthly blog post about the books I read. It's mostly the toots, copied into a WordPress post, but I think it looked good, and it was an easy way to document and share it, without it costing too many spoons.
Tonight, I'll work on my blog again for a while. And, of course, have some walks with Bas. 😊 Mum wasn't feeling very well today, almost yesterday, so I hope that she will feel better soon. I don't mind helping out with Bas, as he's a cutie... 😊 But I do miss being able to leave the house without issues, like to get groceries, or... Visit the gym! I know I have three simple cardio machines, but it's just not the same as visiting the gym... 😊
