I just created a Kirby theme with ChatGPT Codex in just a few minutes; now I’ll be fine-tuning it further with Codex over the next few days. 😉

It’s impressive what I’ve already accomplished in 2–3 hours with ChatGPT Codex—or rather, what the LLM has built based on my instructions—and it seems to be working flawlessly at first glance. 🤯

So far, I’ve only done the “development” locally on my PC, connected to Codex via VS Code as my IDE of choice—for now. 😎

IT’S mind-boggling what an LLM like ChatGPT can do these days. 😁

I started a discussion on the Kirby forum that grew out of a brainstorming session with ChatGPT. 😃

The starting point was the question of how Obsidian and Kirby could be synced. However, this led to a more fundamental consideration:

What would an open synchronization protocol need to look like so that any editor could work with Kirby? 🤔

I’m really tempted at the moment not only to set up a “development blog” based on PureBlog (https://pureblog.org/) for my development project with Kirby (https://quasselkopf.de/@kranzkrone/116234118194406220), but also to replace my existing blog with it, so that I have a place to write down and publish my thoughts again, at least until the aforementioned Kirby project is finished. 🙄😅😉

PureBlog and GetKirby are both flat-file style CMS's, so they operate on the same level in terms of functionality, but differ greatly in terms of administration and scope. 😃

As I’ve been using Mastodon as a temporary substitute for blogging for a while now, PureBlog could be a useful addition to that. 🤔

Perhaps I should use the public holiday on 1 May to make a decision on this matter. 😁

Neulich habe ich eine spezielle Webapp gelauncht: Die "Standardanweisungen für Rettungs-Sanitäter". Optimiert als PWA mit vollständiger Offline-Version, die sich bei vorhandenem Netz selber aktualisiert und ohne Netz ganz brav den letzten bekannten Stand aus dem Cache anzeigt. Dazu eine JS-Livesuche und eine geobasierte Umkreissuche der nächsten Krankenhäuser.

Der Dokumentenviewer mit den Flussdiagrammen speist sich aus Visio-Dokumenten, die als SVG exportiert werden und beim Rendern on they fly automatisch mit Querverlinkungen zu bekannten CMS-Pages versehen werden. Crazy Stuff.

Inhalte werden mit Kirby gepflegt und bei Bedarf per Knopfdruck komplett statisch rausgerendert für die Live-PWA.

The client is US-based and in the accessibility space.

I have built the previous version of the site many moons ago, and would be available to talk through the details.

I think it’s a good project for a freelancer for around 2 weeks.

I'm a complete non-programmer and I'm going to build a custom theme for Kirby CMS v5 — together with an LLM (Claude by Anthropic) as my coding partner. 😉

The goal: migrate my German blog kranzkrone.de from WordPress to Kirby, with a clean, minimalist design built (almost) from scratch.

Every step will be documented — the progress, the dead ends, the "why doesn't this work?!" moments. The code will be open on Codeberg. I'll blog about it and toot about it here.

If we hit a wall, I'll just show the code to someone who knows more. That's the beauty of building in public. 🙂

Ich bin absoluter Nicht-Programmierer und werde ein eigenes Theme für Kirby CMS v5 bauen — gemeinsam mit einer LLM (Claude von Anthropic) als Coding-Partner. 😉

Das Ziel: meinen deutschen Blog kranzkrone.de von WordPress zu Kirby migrieren, mit einem sauberen, minimalistischen Design, das wir (fast) von Grund auf entwickeln.

Jeder Schritt wird dokumentiert — die Fortschritte, die Sackgassen, die „warum funktioniert das nicht?!"-Momente. Der Code liegt offen auf Codeberg. Ich blogge darüber und toote hier.

Wenn wir nicht weiterkommen, zeige ich den Code einfach jemandem der mehr Ahnung hat. Das ist das Schöne am öffentlichen Bauen. 🙂

Ich bin absoluter Nicht-Programmierer und werde ein eigenes Theme für Kirby CMS v5 bauen — gemeinsam mit einer LLM (Claude von Anthropic) als Coding-Partner. 😉

Das Ziel: meinen deutschen Blog kranzkrone.de von WordPress zu Kirby migrieren, mit einem sauberen, minimalistischen Design, das wir (fast) von Grund auf entwickeln.

Jeder Schritt wird dokumentiert — die Fortschritte, die Sackgassen, die „warum funktioniert das nicht?!"-Momente. Der Code liegt offen auf Codeberg. Ich blogge darüber und toote hier.

Wenn wir nicht weiterkommen, zeige ich den Code einfach jemandem der mehr Ahnung hat. Das ist das Schöne am öffentlichen Bauen. 🙂

I just finished the first step for the new (gated) area of my website. Login via Mastodon works 🥳

Next step is login via email and then step by step other methods like indieLogin. Those are basically mapped to a #getkirby user, and become virtual users, so to speak.

I will use this for my creative/experimental stuff and later on for my courses.

hm ich weiß nicht, wie ich zumindest die Blogbeiträge von Ghost zu Kirby kriege. Da sind ja auch noch alle Beiträge bei, die von Wordpress zu Ghost umgezogen sind und die reichen bis 2008 zurück. I also worked a bit on the panel views, especially the comment table. You can now edit comments pretty quickly by directly changing values in the table. And there is multi-edit mode ready for you.

I also merged the detail views into one.

I just released a new #komments release, which tries to reduce comment spam by LLMs (and others) using verification.

If you like, you can now enable this feature. Users then have to verify their comments by email. Unverified will eventually be marked as spam or be deleted after 48h. After submitting their comments, users will receive an email with a verification link similar to those login links you might already know: https://maurice-renck.de/kirby/komments/guides/e-mail-verification

Small update for the #getkirby #komments plugin. You can now define phrases and keywords that, when found in the comment text, will increase the spam score. Hopefully this will help you a bit more with those annoying (AI) spammers.
