Taking the #MTA #MNR to do the discover the #HudsonValley #bike ride. This has to be one of the prettiest train commutes into #nyc that stretches all the way north to Poughkeepsie.
Crossing our fingers that the rain will clear off this morning.
Starting off in Poughkeepsie on the old train (now pedibike) bridge over the Hudson River.

#Daffodils planted as bulbs late last fall are up on #WestSideHighway Southbound at 100th and along #CherryWalk at 100th. Distinctly, planted them last fall along the highway because within a few years that outer lane will become a #bikenyc lane. Each year I will extend the planting. Good rich soil. Bicyclists move slow enough to appreciate it.

Went. Easy trip by analog bike and #6 subway. Really need #citiBike docks at #PelhamBayPark subway station and #OrchardBeach. I took my own bike.

That was fun. I was crossing the Queensboro Bridge when I notice a dad and his kid biking in front of me. When we get to Skillman I pass them and say to the dad, "He's doing great!" Turns out they're biking all the way to Forest Hills, and the kid is the same age as my daughter and they were previously in the same school & class. We chatted the rest of the 6mi ride home. #BikeNYC #BikeQNS
It made me miss #KidicalMass. We should have one on the #QueensBlvdPBL @transportationalternatives.

So, like, what in the hostile architecture is up with this fence on #QueensBlvd? Is that to ensure that drivers on BOTH roads have enough space to illegally park on the curb? Is it to keep people from camping? Was someone at #NYCDOT drunk?

And so, I am continuing my efficacy of #NYPD enforcement of moving violations for #TrafficViolence investigation.
Very basic for now, but I have a scatterplot.Going to build up these pandas arrays (add in camera enforcement, temperature, precipitation, ???) and see what falls out of a random forest.
My thoughts: traffic violence low correlation to moving violation enforcement

Cool, cool. End of August. Sure, no rush, bike lanes don't need protection or anything.
(#NYC's 311 has entries allowing you to report multiple types of 'illegal' games, but nothing for reporting any kind of unsafe bike lane situation. So you just send a generic comment to #NYCDOT Queens commissioner, which may get answered eventually..)
