Considering the subject of #Threema getting sold by one private equity firm to another, with former KKR and Morgan Stanley staff at its helm, I‘m reminded of the poignancy of a point @cyberlyra made in the #OptOutProject.
Avoiding the lock-in effect of tech companies, stay mobile and ready to move on any time.
We’ve witnessed enshitification too often to maintain the illusion a good thing will remain good.

I just started four #SocialMedia accounts: A private account for #Mastodon and #Bluesky and two job-related accounts, following @cyberlyra 's #balkanization philosophy. I like Mastodon more because it is #FOSS and #Fediverse, more #diverse and more resilient against (self)#censorship. My first experience with #Bluesky: They immediately #blockedme (before sending any post) because of 'behaviour' (¿? I got no explanation), and I had to send my passport to reactivate it. Is this normal?

This article reminded so much of having to go to my aunt's house to read the World Book Encyclopedia or having to wait for the trek to the British Library or the Saturdays spent at the Malleshwaram public library. Looking for some #tech advice. Trying to move from #Gmail to more secure #email accounts. Set up free @protonprivacy account and was planning on doing one more. Planned on using #Mailfence but they won't let me register. I was thinking of going with @startmail or @fastmail as a general secure inbox. Any thoughts or experiences with them? A third option is to do Mail Plus with #Proton and have just one box. Wanted to keep costs lower ($5 or below). Doing this as part @cyberlyra's Cyber Cleanse!
