So, I like macOS- I really do. I switched to macOS - at that time System 7 in somewhere around 1994(?) and I never looked back. I highly appreciate the #emacs alike movement. If you are in an entry field ctrl-a (C a) always takes you to the beginning, ctrl-e (C e) to the end. So nice. I always fall for this trap on Windows But here is something that never happend to me - and I just discovered it (might be late to the party). My emacs wasn't accepting ctrl-space any longer. Oh, well - I mean hey - it's something fundamental to mark something.
And now - I discovered by C-h k C-SPC that nothing arrived at emacs. It's a hotkey for switching inputs......
macOS → System Settings → Keyboard → Keyboard Shortcuts… → Input Sources

I finally tried using a #Quarto doc with #Python in #PositronIDE .
Y'all. 🤩 It's so good. It's so flippin nice. I even added a snippet to easily add a python code cell by pressing `p + tab`.
It finds my `uv` virtualenv, I can just add more code and hit `Ctrl + Enter` and it goes to the console, and everything behaves *mostly* like it does when I'm writing #RStats .

As a lefty who mouses with left hand google sheets requiring me to use ctrl-v to paste is INFURIATING.
There's a menu item for paste in the context menu but it just pops up a little scolding dialogue instructing me to move my hand off the input device, to a different input device and do the operation there.
People wonder why I prefer the CLI.

After fiddeling around to find a good terminal emulation program for simulating a #TeleVideo terminal I'm gone back to the roots. ZOC was an alternative, but it does not run under #Linux.
It's also a kind of #RetroComputing to control the #KneisnerM100 with an old DOS program 😉 Now the display positions are correct and no annoying ctrl sequences as with VT100 or ANSI.

On the hardware side of my dev setup I made 2 changes:
Switched from #Realforce TKL keyboard to #HHKB Pro Hybrid Type-S. Those #topre switches are endgame, and while I had the same ones in the Realforce, the overall feel of HHKB, its layout, size, weight, feels great. It forced me to start using ctrl in caps-lock position due to its layout, which is something I wanted to try in the past but never had enough will. Should have done this earlier, because it feels great.

Puede que alguien lo considere una virtud, pero para mi uno de los principales defectos de Obsidian es el sistema de "guardado automático". No se si es una expresión estándar. Para mi significa que no hay que guardar los archivos antes de salir de ellos. Pero también significa que salvo el uso de "deshacer" (Ctrl-Z), no existe ninguna forma de recuperar por ejemplo el borrado accidental de un texto.
Esto es especialmente grave en los dispositivos móviles (maldito Androide). Con la Tablet uso frecuentemente un teclado físico, donde dispongo de esa combinación de teclas, pero en el teléfono casi cualquier error es fatal. No existe una versión anterior del archivo, si pulsaste una tecla equivocada cuando había un texto seleccionado, tendrás que volver a escribirlo, sea una palabra o una página entera.
Es cierto que no es necesario acordarse de usar el "guardar archivos" e incluso si dejas un escrito medias Obsidian guardará el borrador. Hasta los archivos vacíos se guardan como "Sin Nombre" pero a mi me bastaria con un pequeño recordatorio del tipo "El archivo que va a cerrar ha sido modificado, ¿Quiere guardarlo ahora? Si no lo hace, las modificaciones se perderán" Y la típica opción para guardarlo con otro nombre o sobreescribir la versión antigua. Todo puede lleva a errores, quien no ha perdido trabajo por alguno de estos errores estúpidos, pero por favor, déjenme tener mis propios errores y sobre todo, denme opciones para solucionarlos.
