So, I like macOS- I really do. I switched to macOS - at that time System 7 in somewhere around 1994(?) and I never looked back. I highly appreciate the #emacs alike movement. If you are in an entry field ctrl-a (C a) always takes you to the beginning, ctrl-e (C e) to the end. So nice. I always fall for this trap on Windows But here is something that never happend to me - and I just discovered it (might be late to the party). My emacs wasn't accepting ctrl-space any longer. Oh, well - I mean hey - it's something fundamental to mark something.
And now - I discovered by C-h k C-SPC that nothing arrived at emacs. It's a hotkey for switching inputs......
macOS → System Settings → Keyboard → Keyboard Shortcuts… → Input Sources

I have a usb stick as a reader for several sd sizes.
I KNOW I have one, if not TWO of those (though I loaned one out and am not sure if it's back yet.)
Cannot for the life of me find it. But I want to set up my shiny new #raspberrypi, so I check all my old hardware until I find a netbook with an internal reader. Fine. That works too.
...you know what happens next, right?
2 Minutes after I finished installing the raspi at its new home, I found the usb stick. 🤦♂️
In exactly the place I have been looking thrice already. 🤨

(Et pendant ce temps rechercher "contrevent sur enrouleur" dans Google Produits ou dans DuckDuckGo Shopping ne renvoie pas de volets roulants)

More #srsly, looking at how technology is "sold" to people and used & abused today, the bulk of my concerns about dystopian future outcomes come not from #AR (or #AI) technologies in & of themselves, as much as the thought that Apple or Microsoft or other #forprofit monopolists / oligopolists will be allowed - again - to be the central decision-makers of how new technologies are developed, marketed, maintained, and so on.
