how about installing ArchLinux or Debian as the OS on your hardware ?
How about running each Windows version in a Qemu or a Virtualbox instance ?
You can have as many versions as you want and for all the time you saved bake some Spekulatius or Lebkuchen !

Frisch #ArchLinux installiert. Fürs #WLAN ist ein USB-Stick zuständig, der als #wlan0 eingebunden wird. Hat während der Installation bestens funktioniert. Auch im fertigen System heißt er wlan0, allerdings findet #iwctl jetzt plötzlich keine Netzwerke mehr. Ziehe ich den Stick im laufenden Betrieb heraus und stecke ihn kurz darauf wieder hinein, wird er zu #wlan1 und iwctl findet nun wieder Netzwerke und verbindet sich. Nach einem Neustart ist alles hinfällig.
Stundenlang habe ich jetzt gesucht und herumprobiert. Leider erfolglos.
Hat jemand eine Idee, was hier falsch läuft? Danke im Voraus.

Controversial #Opinion: Archinstall makes #archlinux harder to use.
If you do your install by hand, you know what was installed, you know how jankily it was done, and you know (presumably) what to look at when you screw something up in 3 years because it's been so stable you forgot you're supposed to read the news before updating.
If you use archinstall, you don't necessarily know exactly what packages were installed unless you're a particularly diligent admin. If you're using archinstall I can only assume you're not a particularly diligent admin. So when it breaks in 8 months because library Xyz.69420.so requires a manual adjustment that alpm can't handle you're SOL because you don't even know you have Xyz.69420.so on your system.

Auf meinem frisch installierten #ArchLinux bekomme ich seit Tagen nicht #musikcube installiert. #pikaur scheitert aufgrund eines "schwerwiegenden Fehlers", da es Datei oder Verzeichnis "asio/io_service.hpp" nicht finden kann.
#asio ist aber mit #pacman installiert. Wo liegt also der Fehler? Ich bin ratlos.

(for those that didn’t see my last post this is the 8GB model from an old hardware test I did for a job. It was bought then rejected bought by the company because it came with 8GB instead of 16GB. I forgot I had it until now.)

Getting annoyed by my ArchLinux setup.
#ConnMan itself works fine. But as soon as I start the tailscaled service, it shits itself in the pants and can't resolve DNS queries (apparently, connman provides its own relaying DNS server) anymore. Probably because it tries to use tailscale0, which is not yet set up. And I can't set it up because logging in needs a DNS query.I already added the tailscale interfaces to the blacklist, yet connman seems keen on using it anyway.
