It is Saturday May 23rd, and this #disabled man existing in #poverty is really truthfully struggling, from constant pain, to sleepless nights, hunger filled days, my blood pressure is on an continus rollercoaster, my executive cognitive function is declining, my hands don't work the way they should, vertigo keeps me dizzy and sometimes between bad knees and that I have issues walking, stooping or bending down, I fight with what I can eat today verse can I afford to take a shower and will I have clean clothes to put on, I have a near non existent disability income, that can not cover even a quarter of life today, every facet of my life hangs on a precarious precipice, I have no safety at all, I am begging for help to live, I am begging for compassion and dignity, and sadly it nearly never comes, what does trickle in on occasion is never even enough to offer breathing room, O it is greatly appreciated more than anyone will ever realize, but it is never really enough to even begin to weave a net of safety little lone take care of the urgent needs of the moment, people I am exhausted mentally, spiritually and physically, I need a major infusion of financial support, and I have never expected one person to bear the brunt of my burdens, rather I hope that all will help how they could, with the compassion empathy and understanding that if was them in need would they not pray for the same, I am 48, I am disabled and in poverty, and with no where to turn for anything, I have had a very hard life, how much longer must I be forced to fight and endure an existence void of compassion, empathy, support, respect, dignity, and safety, please I am not in a good place, please help me climb out of this hell of desperation today;

Oltre 14’000 disoccupati. I ticinesi vogliono lavorare
La disoccupazione in Ticino cresce. È vero, non era necessario attendere gli ultimi dati perché sarebbe bastato prestare attenzione agli articoli che annunciano la chiusura ogni giorno di una nuova azienda. La situazione si fa sempre più complessa, e in un territorio come il nostro non possiamo solamente limitarci a ritenere i conflitti geopolitici e le tensioni internazionali come unica causa. Purtroppo, la situazione economica del Cantone diventa sempre più preoccupante e persino le aziende storiche che operano sul territorio da decenni incontrano sempre più difficoltà.
E qui si inserisce il dato appena pubblicato relativo al tasso di disoccupazione in Ticino nel primo trimestre 2026. Come spesso capita anche questa volta il dato calcolato secondo il metodo dell’Organizzazione internazionale del lavoro (ILO), che fa riferimento a metodi statistici basati su sondaggi telefonici, parla di un tasso del 7,6%, oltre 14’000 persone che cercano un lavoro. Impressionante la differenza con il dato calcolato dalla Segreteria di Stato dell’economia (SECO): in questo caso il tasso sarebbe solo del 3,2% e i disoccupati 5’500.
Naturalmente conosciamo bene la natura differente di questi due indicatori: il dato SECO si basa esclusivamente sulle persone iscritte presso gli uffici regionali di collocamento. Abbiamo sempre detto che evidentemente questo numero è sottostimato, perché ci sono tantissime persone in cerca di lavoro che per una ragione o per l’altra non rientrano in queste statistiche ufficiali.
Ma la questione non è un aspetto di secondo piano, oppure una problematica che riguarda solo gli economisti, anzi. Quando la differenza è così grande, bisogna assolutamente che la politica economica del nostro Cantone ne tenga conto. Il tasso dell’ILO è cresciuto dal 6,7% del quarto trimestre del 2025 e dal 6,6% dello stesso periodo dell’anno scorso. Per trovare un tasso così alto bisogna tornare al secondo trimestre del 2021, in piena crisi COVID.
Ora è il momento di agire. Ora è il momento di rimboccarsi le maniche. È il momento che il lavoro, con tutte le sue difficoltà, torni a essere il tema principale della politica economica e sociale di questo Cantone.
Eppure, mentre la situazione non fa altro che peggiorare, il silenzio diventa sempre più assordante. Possibile che nessuno si preoccupi delle aziende che continuano a chiudere battenti e delle persone che oramai sono disperate? Ci si nasconde dietro alla finta illusione che bastino i sussidi, ma la gente vuole lavorare e vivere dignitosamente e autonomamente con il proprio stipendio.
