Same thing they did with #TheBoys.
"Fuckin' great! Love it! YEAH!", praising it up and down.
And the instant it didn't end where they wanted it to, "FUCK THIS STUPID SHITTY SHOW, IT ALWAYS SUCKED", etc.
And the biggest bummer is that you can't even see the beautiful thing they DID do through your thick fog of entitlement.
Maybe that's a bit much, but whatever.
I'll meet you half way: I can appreciate the Surf Dracula of it all. And it definitely felt as if a lot of the choices made were to accommodate a lean budget (limited number of locations, all aliens are disguised as humans, very sparse VFX usage). But I also really enjoy what they were able to do within those potential constraints. Big respect for doing something to emotional, and kept you guessing.
It's only sin is being a more subdued story. But it was hardly a bad one: it was very messy, complicated, and ethically difficult. And that's what I loved about it.
