I'm in that uncomfortable position smack in the middle between too much (quantity of tasks) to do and not enough (variety) to do. In this situation I usually defer to adding more variety and doing things not on my immediate todo list. I also touch a lot of tasks without committing to completing them.
I realize this can be frustrating to the people I work with.

Nothing has cost me more time and money in the last year running our design studio than converting legacy Adobe documents to use new OTF fonts which we have to purchase to replace the now defunct Postscript we already purchased. And while I am grumbling, the state of font management on MacOS is atrocious and maddening. I've changed font managers 3 times in the last year and still have issues finding and enabling fonts.

I feel like we're watching the decline and death of Arc Browser. Chromium updates and bug fixes each week. I know they said they were moving on to another new/undisclosed/unexplainable product, but going into only a maintenance phase for a very popular app rubs me wrong. I used to love getting the weekly update and seeing their take on how to improve a browser. The lights in our house have all been flickering now for over 24 hours. Calls to the power company have been largely ineffective in getting any here to help. There’s a loud buzz at a nearby pole that seems plausible as the problem. We’re stuck with variable voltage and flickering lights for now. Oh and I had to shut off our UPS that powers out internet and file server because it kept cycling from house power to battery power. #poweroutage #utilities #electrical #lowvoltage

A friend shared the gaming computer he built for his kid. This reminded me of my Dad’s devotion the building Heathkit computers from com kits and components he bought from their catalog. Which leads me to my first love: the Heathkit Hero 1 robot. I campaigned for months when I was 12 for getting one of these. This time of year (after all the year end wrap up posts) I feel like such an inferior reader. Then I realize I can't 'read' via audio book. I have a hard enough time listening to podcasts. Folks who devour books seem to do so by listening to them. I don't wanna poo poo either way of reading, but recognize their are two distinct paces.

Ortofon Blue cartridge mounted and aligned! My biggest fear of snapping the wire from the connector has been averted. Note tiny needle nose pliers are a must. But there’s a new complication… My tone arm counterweight is now too light so I can’t set tracking force. Hoping a 10g larger weight will solve the problem.
