  1. 🎉 Our demo has been accepted to the 24th International Conference on Mobile Data Management @mdm

    Looking forward to bringing to

  2. Trajectools 2.0 released 🎉

It's my pleasure to share with you that 2.0 just landed in the official Plugin Repository. This is the first version without the "experimental" flag. If you look at the plugin release history, you will see that the previous release was from 2020. That's quite a while ago, and a lot has happened since…

  3. The toolbox continues to grow.

New in: stop detection and trajectory styling

I’m continuously testing the algorithms integrated so far to see if they work as GIS users would expect and can to ensure that they can be integrated in Processing model seamlessly.

  4. If you had issues with version 0.17.0 in your 3.9 and 3.8 environments, please update to version 0.17.1 released today

  5. "The raw coordinates and their timestamps were processed to detect individual (trips) for each battery using @movingpandas

The individual trajectories were split between stopping points, which were detected when the coordinates of the remained within a diameter of 200 m for at least 5 min

For each detected trip, the start time, end time, trip duration, trip distance, and average trip speed were determined and recorded for further analysis

  6. New 🚴 track analytics demo key topics are:

1️⃣ Using @movingpandas with local image coordinates
2️⃣ Georeferencing video-based trajectories using @qgis VectorBender plugin

  7. We're happy to announce that the new version 0.16 has just been released 🎉

This is the first release to support 2.0

    In addition, new features include:
🎈 New custom unit support for distance, speed, and acceleration functions
🎈 Improved plots with arrow markers to indicate direction

    More details:

  8. We've just merged a long-awaited feature: different distance, speed, and acceleration units support

    github.com/movingpandas/moving

This should make working with the results much more user-friendly than the basic SI units we have provided so far

  9. Today, we've had our first successful mini workshop with colleagues from the EMERALDS project, working on

If everything goes to plan, Trajectools will be at
    @mdm

There are still a few days left to submit your own work and join us: mdm2024.github.io/calls.html

  10. Also added some more statistics to the default output: start and end time, duration, length, and average speed, ready for further analysis directly from the toolbox or in the model designer

  11. development version now features out-of-the-box Interpolated Line styling for trajectories 🌈

Additionally, we can now clip a trajectory layer by a polygon layer (as well as to an extent)

  12. Interpolated Line styles are really growing on me. Very helpful to visualize results

I've been testing the integration in the Model Designer, in combination with other toolbox algorithms

  13. New year, new start: I'm rebooting the Processing Trajectools plugin development. Trajectools v2 builds on and exposes its trajectory analysis algorithms in the Toolbox. More:

  14. And so the quest continues: Merging tools that logically belong together and applying default styles to better show the computed speed and direction values

Also switched to the @movingpandas logo as a plugin icon

  15. The live stream recording of my engineering workshop with and is up now at 🎬 youtube.com/live/roPF1oth2Pk?s 🎬

    Thanks to @opengeohub!

There will also be an edited version on TIB.eu in the future, if you prefer an add free platform. Stay tuned

  16. Enjoy the latest convenience features for exploration:
✅ Support for tons of different units for distance, time, speed, and acceleration movingpandas.org/units
✅ Interactive plots visualizing values along the trajectory as well as movement direction
