"The French post office on Friday, May 17, rolled out a scratch-and-sniff postage stamp to celebrate the world-famous baguette, once described by President Emmanuel Macron as "250 grams of magic and perfection."
But it was unveiled Thursday, the day of Saint-Honoré, the patron saint of bakers and pastry chefs, by the French postal service."
Now do madeleines, please.

Prior to ~1996ish, taking this IP address offline, may or may not have taken down the entire global #Microsoft network.
P.S. Executing the "debug all" or a similar command on a production router may not be in your best interests.😀

The last #RadioTelescope at #AreciboObservatory has been shut down.
"...after 14 August, only 18 staff members will remain to maintain the site until the new management comes in." That is, if they can find funding.

Awesome day today!
Got to take one of our semi-annual trips up north with my daughter and her husband. Despite the pissing down rain, we headed up into #SkagitValley onto #ChuckanutDriveWe took a nice walk down to the water in #LarrabeeStatePark to check out the rock formations, moss, lichen, and a few teeny mushrooms. Managed to get a bunch of pictures and I'm looking forward to sorting through them tomorrow.
Also stopped by one of my favorite local cheesemongers(Samish Bay Cheese) in the area and picked up partial wheel of cheese and some lebneh cheesecake.
Here's one with my daughter looking south down onto #SamishBay

Ugh. #Xfce has relied on #Transifex (as well as dozens of volunteers) for our localisation efforts for many years. I'm really not looking forward to see how this acquisition will "transform our digital-first global experiences"

An essential listen!
And once you are done with that, you must run out and find the 30+ volumes of the Éthiopiques compilations. Just an incredible collection of music from an almost lost pocket of culture from the late '60/early '70's music scene of Addis Ababa & #Ethiopia
So many great artists: Gétatchèw Mèkurya, Mulatu Astatke, Emahoy Tsege Mariam Gebru

Almost time to get started cooking.
Still at the stage of having all the incredients spread out on the counter and staring at them out of the corner of my eye.
If all goes according to plan, the two of us will have leftovers 'til Friday. Perhaps, if I'm feeling frisky, I may attempt some baking tomorrow; but, otherwise, I'll be off-duty until Saturday.

Only took me ~12 hours to connect the melody that I awoke with to its original owner.
It's kinda nice when a phrase or passage keeps you company throughout the day without feeling compelled to figure out where it came from.

Generally, I consider myself a kinda sorta #Queer #AnarchoSyndicalist #Buddhist so...there you go on my appropriately vague political stance...

That's sounds fascinating. Very jealous.
I've been a fan of Anselm Kiefer's work since I saw an exhibit of his at the Philadelphia Museum of Art in 1987(?). One of the highlights of my time as an art student many years ago. Awe inspiring work to see up close and in-person.
I was also unaware of Wenders film about him. Thanks for posting! Enjoy the tour!

I've been slacking off on my extra-curricular reading the last few months. Got to
work on changing that.Last night, I finally completed C. Fred Alford's "After the Holocaust: The Book of Job, Primo Levi, and the Path to Affliction"
It's a multi-disciplinary study on the themes within the Book of Job, testimony
from survivors of the Holocaust(in this case, specifically, Levi) within a
framework of psychology & Continental philosophy. A favored type of
'light' reading, for me. Good stuff. While not terribly full of sunshine, lollipops, and rainbows, I did
manage to glimpse a few shards of light, and perhaps hope, as in this passage:#Holocaust #Auschwitz #BookOfJob #BiblicalStudies #Philosophy #Suffering #Reading

I am seen and fully live & support this lifestyle.
Not sure about the houseband moniker; but, I want to give a shout out to other guys who are domestic gods and provide support for their partners!

I also learned, this morning, that he is also into the genre of "dudes in boats", if that helps. e.g.: Master & Commander and Red October. I recommended "Kon Tiki" and "Das Boot".
