Marraskuussa muutettiin Vason rivitaloon laajan putkiremontin tieltä (kaikki 64 vuokrasuhdetta irtisanottiin). Tammikuussa kuultiin, että yhtiöön (6 taloa) on tulossa perusparannus-remontti. Meille vain "osittainen", eli ei sentään tarvitse tyhjentää vasta täytettyä kotia. Kestää maanrakennus-töineen puoli vuotta, ja laittaa meidät de facto evakkoon kuukaudeksi. 'Pettymys' lie lievimpiä käyttämiämme tunne-attribuutteja, ja jokaista yöunta on taas oppinut arvostamaan. Välillä tästäkin takaiskusta ja kohtalon oikusta on ollut olo kuin hirttolavalla, ja mielessä enää, "aukeaako luukku?"
Äskettäin elämäni ensimmäinen oma piha kuitenkin kuiskasi, että saattaa tulla vielä kesä 2025:kin, vaikka tämä jo kutakuinkin yliviivautui. Sitäpaitsi syksyähän muutenkin odotan, kun siitä ehdittiin kokea vasta loppu.
Lintuja ja muita syntymä-optimisteja säälittömästi kurittanut takataka(taka)-talvi haihtui jonnekin. Suli silmissä. Vastustamaton kevään voima tunki maasta kuin hiki iholle (elämäni ensimmäisessä omassa saunassa), ja tiedostui paksuunkin kalloon. Ensin tuli tervehtimään tulppaanipari, jonka joku aikaisempi asukas oli jättänyt. Sitten voikukat alkoivat tarjota mehujaan perhosille. Eikä äskeisestä ruskeudesta ja valkeudesta ole kuin muisto jäljellä. Ja kaiken aikaa Virnamäestä, jonka kamara parhaillaan peittyy monin paikoin kielomereen, on kuulunut ties minkä sortin sirkutusta, vihellystä säksätystä ja kiroilua, ajoittain pilkahtavien oravien, jänisten ja kettujen pysyessä etupäässä liikehavainnon puolella. Toissapäivänä mustarastaat tulivat soitimelle tuossa aivan nenän edessä, ja siinä jo meinasi iloinen nauru päästä.
Näinä aikoina parasta ahkerointia on se, kun menee takapihalle istumaan vanhaa retkituoliin, eikä tee mitään. Ei lue, ei mieti, ei havainnoi, eikä varsinkaan puhu, vain on. Preceding the occupation forces’ invasion of Rafah on Monday night, the Palestinian Resistance conducted a multitude of operations.
Amid the invasion, the Palestinian Islamic Jihad’s (PIJ) al-Quds Brigades targeted the settlement city of Sderot, Kibbutz Nir Am, and other settlements with several salvos of rockets. The settlements are located to the northeast of the Gaza Strip.
As a result, sirens sounded in Sderot, Nir Am, Mefalsim, and Gevim, at 11:00 pm (local time).
Al-Qassam’s Rajoum MLR plague occupation forces
Hamas’ al-Qassam Brigades launched multiple attacks on occupation forces and worked jointly with several factions to complete a number of operations.
Following Sunday’s attack on the Karem Abu Salem border crossing, which was executed using locally-produced Rajoum 114 mm Multiple Rocket Launchers (MRLs), al-Qassam Brigades continued to use the launcher to target the military on Monday.
Al-Qassam fighters targeted the Netzarim Axis, splitting the northern Gaza Strip from the rest of the besieged territory, with multiple short-rage Rajoum rockets on Monday morning.
Later, the Brigades launched a joint operation with the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine – General Command’s (PFLP-GC) Martyr Jihad Jibril Brigades, targeting occupation forces in the same area with 107 mm short-range rockets.
In another joint operation, the two factions’ mortar units launched an attack on occupation forces positioned in Netzarim.
Soon after, al-Qassam fighters launched yet another attack on the Axis using 107 mm rockets. Operations on Netzarim did not stop there, as multiple other factions targeted the Axis in their own rocket and mortar attacks.
Occupiers in Netzarim face Monday hell
On Monday morning, al-Aqsa Martyrs Brigades launched a concentrated rocket attack on occupation forces positioned in the Axis.
The Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine’s (PFLP) Abu Ali Mustapha Brigades launched two attacks on the Axis. The first came in coordination with the al-Mujahideen Brigades fighters, firing multiple rockets toward the area.
Later, Abu Ali Mustapha fighters launched another salvo of rockets toward the Axis, while the al-Mujahideen Brigades launched its own attack on the Zionist command post in Netzarim.
The Democratic Front for the Liberation of Palestine’s (DFLP) National Resistance Brigades launched 120 mm mortar shells toward the Sufa military site to the east of Rafah, which contains a parking lot for Zionist military vehicles.
Al-Quds Brigades execute multi-dimensional operations
On the other hand, al-Quds Brigades fighters continued to execute concentrated and multidimensional attacks against forces.
In one operation, an al-Quds Brigades’ sniper team shot down an occupation soldier positioned to the east of the al-Shujaiya neighborhood in the northern Gaza Strip.
The Brigades’ mortar units also achieved direct hits to Zionist assets in Netzarim on Monday noon.
At 7:00 pm, rocket units launched an attack on Sderot and Mefalsim, as sirens went off in Gevim.
The Brigades then launched a mortar attack from the southwestern side of Gaza City, on the Netzarim Axis.
It is worth noting that the area from which the attack was launched was heavily bombarded and later invaded by occupation forces for months, showing the Resistance’s ability to renew operations from supposedly “cleansed” areas.
Iraqi Resistance launches series of operations
The Islamic Resistance in Iraq announced Monday a series of operations against targets in occupied territories in response to the ongoing massacres against the Palestinian people.
The Iraqi Resistance mentioned that its fighters targeted the Zionist Yarden base in the occupied Syrian Golan Heights and the Zionist Yonatan base in the occupied Palestinian territories with drones.
The Resistance also said it targeted the Leviathan gas platform in occupied territories also using drones.
Earlier, the Islamic Resistance in Iraq said its fighters targeted Monday morning the oil port of Ashkelon in the occupied Palestinian territories using the al-Arqab cruise missile and another Zionist military facility in the occupied territories using drones.
The Iraqi Resistance also targeted a military airbase in the occupied Palestinian city of Umm al-Rashrash (Eilat) with drones.
The Islamic Resistance in Iraq affirmed that it would continue to strike enemy strongholds, vowing that its operations would continue in alignment with the Palestinian cause, in support of the Palestinian people and Resistance, and in response to the massacres being carried out in Gaza.
Hezbollah launches dozens of rockets at the entity
The Islamic Resistance in Lebanon – Hezbollah announced that its fighters carried out Monday a series of operations against Zionist military sites and troops along the border with occupied Palestine.
In what was described by Zionist media as a “complex” operation, Hezbollah announced a strike at 11:30 am using one-way drones targeting a gathering of soldiers and vehicles in Metulla, confirming a direct hit, which resulted in the destruction and disabling of multiple vehicles, in addition to the killing and wounding of the targeted force.
Zionist media reported that two were “seriously” wounded as a result of the operation. The outlets later said that one soldier was killed on the northern border.
At 9:00 am, the Resistance announced that its fighters showered the headquarters of the Zionist Golan Brigade in the Nafah military base using tens of Katyusha rockets. Resistance forces launched almost 70 rockets in this one attack.
Later in the day, Hezbollah targeted and hit Zionist technical hardware in the Hadab Yaroun military base using appropriate weapons.
Later, the Lebanese Resistance published air surveillance footage providing information on the attacked position and Zionist unit in Metulla.
According to the video, the occupation force was positioned in an obscure parking lot in Nahal Ayun, which is surrounded by dense forests and trees. The station houses a reconnaissance unit from the Hetzei Ha-Esh 551 Brigade – 98th Division, which operates as part of the military surveillance mission, and another unit from the artillery.
Hezbollah reiterated that the operations come in support of the steadfast Palestinian people in the Gaza Strip and their brave and honorable Resistance and in response to the Zionist attacks on the steadfast southern Lebanese villages and civilian homes.

CW: The problem with ZAKA [graphic though made up descriptions of violence during the October 7th massacre]
#October 7th / The problem with ZAKA
Many descriptions of the dramatic events which allegedly took place in Kibbutz Be'eri which were published on #ZAKA's social networks, are false. The following are a few of a long series of stories that were spread, but are completely detached from reality. There is no evidence of these cases, and no one in the kibbutz heard about the people described in them. Indeed, A senior member of ZAKA admitted in a conversation with #Haaretz" that the organization knows that this was not the case.
The made-up stories issue:
[...] "We saw a woman around 30 years old, she was lying on the floor in a large pool of blood, with her face to the ground. We turned her over to put her in a body bag," a senior ZAKA volunteer recounted in tears. "She was pregnant," he added, stopping to catch his breath. "Her stomach was ripped open and the baby was still attached by the umbilical cord, stabbed, and she had been shot in the back of the head. I don't know if she suffered or saw her baby murdered or not."
[...] The description of this dramatic event, which supposedly took place in Kibbutz Be'eri and was also published on ZAKA's social media, simply did not happen. As was recently published in Haaretz, this is one of a series of stories circulated with no basis in reality. There is no evidence of the case, and no one in the kibbutz heard about this woman. A senior ZAKA official admitted in a conversation with Haaretz that the organization knows the incident did not occur.
[...] And this is not an isolated case. In another video, starring the same volunteer, he describes in tears and crying how he found 20 burnt and bound bodies of children in one of the kibbutzim. He told Haaretz it was behind the dining hall in Kfar Aza, on another occasion he said it was in Be'eri.
[...] However, the minors murdered in Kfar Aza were Yiftah Kurtz, 14, and his brother Yonatan, 16. In Be'eri, ten minors were murdered, but at least some of them were with one of their parents and were killed in their homes. Other than his testimony, there is no evidence of these events taking place.
The fundraising issue:
[...] Fundraising began already on October 8th. "Our volunteers in the field are surrounded by bodies and gunfire and urgently need protection and equipment," was written in a tweet by the organization the day after the massacre. The statement is of course true - ZAKA personnel did indeed work under fire, needed additional equipment, and were surrounded by many bodies. Even though fundraising for a non-profit is completely legitimate, questions arise around the timing and manner in which this was done. And they don't diminish, given the fact that the organization hired a public relations firm, who accompanied the volunteers and photographed them already in the first weeks of the war.
[...] Some who approached the group more closely could hear three of the volunteers busy with video calls and filming clips for fundraising. According to the volunteer's description, the corpse was part of the set, part of the display for donors, while the race against time to collect the bodies of the massacre victims and evacuate them was at its peak. "They opened a fundraising situation room there," described another person who witnessed the event, and who operated throughout the war in the communities near Gaza. "Two weeks later I saw them operating similarly also in Be'eri – sitting and making fundraising videos and calls inside the kibbutz." ZAKA stated that "no fundraising calls were made by the organization in the field, and any specific incident brought to our attention will be investigated and handled."
