Note to self: Between #QGIS versions 3.34.5 and 3.34.6, the packaging for the #Windows version of QGIS changed from #Python 3.9 to Python 3.12.
Will have to test if/how #Trajectools is affected

6 mois pour faire une carte...🙄 peut-être que ça a à voir avec la reprise d'une activité professionnelle... Donc : une commande d'une amie de là-bas : le sud du département des Alpes de Haute-Provence, le nord du Var. Les lacs ont disparu, les gorges du Bas-Verdon sont devenues d'étroits passages maritimes. Using #qgis and #spatialite to do a decile plot of the earth's population. Each band is 10% of all people. It's centered on Almaty which is supposedly the point closest to everyone on earth.
Population data is from Kontur https://www.kontur.io/portfolio/population-dataset/
MapChallenge people, that's a great dataset for day 29 😉

Met #qgis en #spatialite heb je alles waar je ooit een gis systeem voor nodig had. En het werkt beter ook. Omdat het open source is is er een hele gemeenschap die de foutjes eruit poetst. Ik gebruik het thusi om bij te houden waar ik allemaal geweest ben. Hieronder een wereldkaart met de landen die ik de laatste 20 jaar bezocht, een kaartje van m'n recente ritten door de Eifel en een kaartje met mijn sporen in 2023.

- Made a population layer (based on 2020 Census) composed of provinces and NCR cities/municipality.
- Used QGIS' "Order by expression" algorithm to sort the layer features based on their centroid latitude (x(centroid($geometry)).
- Made a script that would divide the sorted features into groups whose population sum was approximately the same (or close to it).
