Still homeward bound on Seren. Today we did the remaining locks at Napton then cruiser on to Braunston. Went shopping, did 6 more locks and the Braunston tunnel before stopping near Norton Junction. #FirstDirect bank are usually quick on the phone if one has a problem but today they weren't and the phone message advised me to use 'message us' on the website. But the button isn't where it should be. So eventually I got through on the phone to the 'tech team' and was told it's because my browser has an ad blocker. I can't believe the messaging system relies on adverts to function so is this just a way to allow their multitude of 'partners' to spam me with adverts? #enshittification #adverts

I keep hearing about really clever algorithms and what they can/might do. But there's an awful lot of crap out there too. Example #Moonpig greetings cards. Each year I send my bro and SiL in Cyprus a birthday card each and a joint Xmas card from Moonpig. That's all. For many, many years. But every week I get special offers for various festivals, weddings, babies, retirements. Obvs their algorithm thinks after all this time I'm suddenly going to start more cards to different people.

@HelenG The honourable thing to do would be to sell the infamous yacht and their various homes, move into a small cheap flat somewhere anonymous, give the money back to the treasury/NHS, resign the peerage and shut the fuck up.
