  1. We took a small detour on our way to Thanksgiving dinner to visit some rocks. Nothing to see here, just a couple of tectonic plates hanging out.

  6. That‘s the #cloudland2024 venue: I‘m trying to have an inspiring workshop, and the environment supports that.

Because shaping the future needs … inspiration and hard work.

  7. Ok, I'm finally here. After leaving Twitter, I tried staying on LinkedIn alone, but that's not the same. Happy to meet you here.

    My topics: #clojure, #ai (not necessarily only #genai, but also #knowledgegraph, etc.), #software #architecture and #organizational #design

For a living, I help orgs define problems to address, find the right structure to solve the problem and bring that into action. I guess that's #digitaltransformation. Basically, my job is to ask the hard question: Why?

  9. Sometimes I think I shouldn’t code at night before bed…

Then there’s nights like tonight where I accidentally copy some nested SCSS into a vanilla CSS style tag… and it works… so I discover that native nesting has been ratified and rolled out. 😅

Honestly, the only thing preventing me from ditching Sass would be using css variables for media queries.

  10. CW: Mention of firearms

We planned to hit the pool today with the kiddo and got him new shark and Ariel toys, but the weather lied and it was too cold. So, those toys became bath toys. In the bathroom, my 4-year-old said, “Daddy, pretend Ariel has a gun…” What!? “To shoot the shark!” Keep in mind, the shark was the bad guy eating the little fishies.

  11. I grabbed #InNOut for lunch today and ordered my burger cooked medium, knowing that they can't do medium well.

The manager informed me they can't do medium.

The line cook did it any way.

    I salute you 🫡

  12. Checked out #threads. Basically just Twitter like #bluesky, but with more active users.

Honestly, I prefer #Mastodon but I’m interested to see how/if they implement #fediverse on their platform.

Twitter *was* my jam, but I’ve found that I get more genuine engagement here than I ever did in Twitter.

  17. #myfirstmac was a #hackintosh I built myself with… I think Empire EFI? I did have a legally purchased copy of OSX though. I was poor and wanted to explore the ecosystem. Also, being the cocky nerd I was I kinda wanted bragging rights to having Mac, Windows, and Linux on the same machine.

My daily driver is currently an M1 MPB, and my home server is my old intel MBP running Linux.

  18. Having some time off from work has meant that I have a little extra time for video games. A couple of my favorites have been #BlasterMaster and #TripWorld.

I've mostly been playing on my #Batocera gaming rig and #MiyooMiniPlus.

  19. When our son was born I would tweet what was on my mind as a “midnight feeding thought” or similar throughout the night… and let me tell you that lack of sleep leads to some interesting trains of thought that drive fun conversations.

So here I am now at nearly 2am after spending two hours comforting our now 3 year old, contemplating picking the habit back up.

I should just go back to bed, huh?

  24. I think I figured out the issue with my PVM and Raspberry Pi. Fortunately, there doesn't seem to be anything wrong with either. Unfortunately, it's going to cost another ~$60 in components 😑.

But man those sweet sweet scanlines are worth it.

  25. Feeling sad 🥺. Finally got my Recalbox RGB Dual and my PVM doesn't want to play nice. No matter what I do I can't get rid of vertical sync issues.

  26. I don’t know what other parents trick their kids into eating, but i just covertly added some D.O.P. Parmigiano Reggiano to my son’s Kraft Mac & Cheese. 😈

It’s all about eating good food, as in taste and quality, right?

  27. Honestly though, our tooling is powerful when you know how to leverage it. Last year i used #playwright to build a small node app that ran on my #RaspberryPi 4. It scraped a #Carvana search every 5 minutes via cron, stored results to a #sqlite db using #prisma, and sent me a text message with a link the moment it found a previously unindexed result.

I learned a bit, and it was SO much more fun to build then a wordpress site 🤣

  28. @schizanon Yeah, deity knows there's enough of those floating around. I'm looking specifically at #ionicframework both for the native integrations, as well as simply using #css for layout (which I'm really good at), vs learning another layout system just for the sake of being "native". Also, one thing I'm keen on is having the option to use apps without an account, maybe storing data locally in a #sqlite db, with the ability to cloud sync #joplin style with the provider of your choice? IDK 🤷🏻‍♂️
