  1. I’ve been looking for my smartphone for 5 months

It's in my apartment... somewhere. Because if it isn't I have to accept that the simplest other solution is that my friend stole it when we were jamming. I don't think he'd do that, just doesn't seem like him. I don't miss the phone. I've been using a Sunbeam F1 Horizon Wren. It meets every need I want my cellular device to meet. I'll use my laptop or tablet for anything else.I want to get into developing for the device I had though. I want to develop an open source driver for the chipset […]

  3. Not a #moth post.
A close up of my spotted-touch-me-not post! 😲

    Scenes from a walk.

    1) Spotted touch-me-not (….or the far less interesting name of Orange Balsam)
    2) Beautiful demoiselle
    3) Old canal bridge
    4) Mothman being a wistful ‘Good Old Boy’

Fabulous day 1 #walk of our 50 miles Newbury to Petersfield walk. Today, short 8 miles Newbury to Inkpen.

  5. Just a few butterflies seen on our short 12 mile #SouthDowns #walk today. Not great photos travelling at pace and pointing an iPhone hither and thither. But sharing is caring...

    1) White Admiral (a little distant)
    2) and 3) Ringlet
    4) One of a gazillion Marbled Whites

Also saw lots of Meadow Browns as well as birds including Stonechat, Skylark, Swifts, Buzzard and Red Kite

  10. I got an early birthday gift :)

My partner got me an entry level racing wheel for my birthday. I'm having a lot of fun with it! I've been playing some BeamNG.drive and doing some emulated PS3 games. I decided to try it in cyberpunk too and it just works! I tried it with Redout, too, great time but my goodness that game is hard. It's possible I'm stupid, but I couldn't get it working with Assetto Corsa so that game is still sitting in my library unplayed. I'm gonna try to get it set up with XEMU, and maybe eventually I'll […]

  12. This is my style of native gardening. I call it "Chaos gardening" although I think it's more proper to call it no-dig gardening.

When we first moved in, 6 years ago in August, I started this garden with a fresh patch of clay soil. It was used as a tomato garden that they lined with plastic to kill the weeds. After years of getting cut down by deer and groundhogs and uninformed lawn care people, I've finally found a rhythm. I've been allowing the garden to fill in and I weed sparingly around the plants. I weed enough to let in sunlight but not enough to draw unwanted attention.

Below are some examples of plants that had been eaten to hell last year (and some this year) but continue to grow in spite of it.

Does anyone else garden like this?

  14. I have a livebearer tank

I raise guppies and mollies, I've got one muppy (who isn't supposed to exist [grumblegrumble]). I've been doing a lot of looking online about poecillia, the livebearer family of fishes.I have an ideal fish I'm trying to breed. Small like an endler, with lyretail genes from mollies and the sunset eclipse pattern I've got. I know. I'm not a god, I can't just make an animal. But if I toss a few (wild type) male endlers in there who can say what happens with the genes. I've seen claims of second […]

  16. Not a moth post.
    A common toad post.
On a path in the beautiful Paxton House grounds, just outside Berwick-upon-Tweed.
