    @FallsMom

    Yes, here too.

    At the po i worked at (for 8yrs), i had 2 coworkers commit suicide and 2 more die of cancer, out of 50 staff. Every single clerk had been forced to repay thousands of dollars of financial losses we were blamed for (I'm very certain the ancient buggy software was at fault at least some times- but very hard to prove).

    They almost killed me several times, too (denying my approved accommodations such as a break to take insulin etc), harassed, etc.

    (Re: ai, insulin pump/cgm, etc contd)

    But this is like any tool, right?
    We have the responsibility to anticipate potential negative impacts and prioritize strategies to avoid them. (Especially the "we" that has the societal "power")

    * contd
    🤹‍♀️:

    -re death, see "dead in bed," "severe lows", etc
    -also, at least 2 common scenarios where the ai's "failsafes" fail.
    If anyone's curious pls LMK cuz this is enough infodump here! 😁🙄😉

    This org is awesome!

    "Cafe Crip: Challenging Professionalism

    Cafe Crip is a monthly gathering to talk about important topics within our disability communities. This month’s theme is Challenging Professionalism. To earn a living, Professionalism (ableism rebranded) often forces us to squeeze our bodies and minds into tight suits and tiny boxes. Let’s talk about that.

    Dear folks
    YOUR INPUT APPRECIATED!

    Here's my idea for a funny meme, but its not quite right, yet.
    So, an image (like the one below maybe) with the text of the "dad joke".

    (The text on the image now says "I have
    "low masking" ARTism
    (self- diagnosed)")

    What do you think? Not quite right, yet, huh?

    Ps-
    If you don't mind, please add if u have any neurodivergences. Or not, whatever. 🐵 (I'm definitely PDA or AuDHD maybe?)

    maybe?

    @PaulDitz re: "too much sleep, not enough water, stand on 1 leg silently reciting alphabet backwards, etc":

    Yes it's so freaking complicated. And almost anyone (incl: DOCTORS GRRRR! #§*%&☆!) rolls their eyes when u try to talk about it.

    So, here is an article i love WAAAAAaaaaay too much:

    (I laughed, I cried, i finally felt understood/ vindicated/ sane...!)

    (Intro contd) I'm probably the equivalent of a paralegal on federal disability laws, (APWU UNION YES), and maybe an honorary MD on the comorbidities of diabetes and PTSD, hyperlipotrophy, the Somogyi effect, Hypoglycemia Unawareness, catecholamine burnout, counterregulatory responses, the resulting autonomic failure, etc.

    My natal chart is a basketfull of dichotomies and tidal waves, and I've been procrastinating whatever lesson that Yod has to teach me for far too long! My favorite job was TAing kids animation classes with Berkeley City College, I'm currently tutoring junior high math online, and volunteering for the amazing local nonprofit Cooperation Humboldt.

    As always I love Democracy Now and Amy Goodman's interviews and this story is really powerful for me because of the deeply humanizing way his Mom and sister Laila and Sanaa Seif share their experiences, both trying to help him stay alive and in continuing to work on civil rights and climate justice.

    “Any form of political organizing that may solve our global crises has to stem from personal solidarity. Like this.” - statement from British-Egyptian Political Prisoner Alaa Abd El-Fattah, from AMY Goodman's interview with "Family of British-Egyptian Political Prisoner Alaa Abd El-Fattah on Their Struggle for His Freedom".

    @derivadow Re: mental: Yes! I've read they're starting to see as a legitimate condition. Of course the line between mental and physical gets blurry when we talk about "fringe" stuff like HU (), (Hypoglycemia Associated Autonomic Failure), "type 3 diabetes" () or even the interactions between catecholamine responses and bloodsugar in non diabetics with . Ps- not a doctor but I've been treating my own for 37 yrs ;)
