Hi #Mastodon friendly reminder that #charity is #facism in the form of #eugenics #ablism and all the *fun* (sarcasm) Anti-Black values of #WhiteSupremacists
#MutualAid and #DirectAid doesn't choose who gets to live and therefore who is worthy of death with ridiculous hoops that the poor and otherwise #marginalized have to jump through to live!
So help my friend Cori

How does ableism show up in your activism and solidarity networks? Who is included in your work and who is left out? How is ableism hurting you too? CW: vent, something I noticed that is kinda abelist, also I feel like I am good spirits enough to finally do it now
Can people stop saying I shouldn't do art coms or anything business related due to my anxiety or mental health problems? I noticed that for a while now on other discord servers and it annoys me.
I thought of that is why I couldn't do it for a long time, but then I seen people with worse anxiety or the same mental illnesses then me be able to do business, or art coms, so I don't believe it anymore.

The indigenous peoples of northern Europe were making a similar voyage long, long before but they weren't the Roman Empire's little colonies so they don't count
Everyone loves to say that the Roman Empire fell - to distance themselves from their atrocities but what here as the so called "Americas" is just the same asshole ideology by a different name
Generations & generations of #racism #ablism #sanism and basically #facism all based on the same little fear that some day food is gonna run out
-
#Capitalism has ingrained in us a deep #individualism fueled on and egged on by #shame and #ablism
How fucking DARE you need help? How fucking dare you not "pull yourself up by your bootstraps"
It's the basic and ongoing fear mongering of the Death Machine - if you share resources you will surely die
But why does it work? Many of us were taught to disappear to survive while on the other end of the spectrum some were taught to center themselves or die
-
I wonder if the worst are those who hoard their resource of network for the sake of their own hubris and "reputation" amoung their relationships unwilling to truly stand behind the #MultiplyMarginalized in case some asshole #facist in their community wants to dehumanize those marginalized people and pick and choose who gets to live - and it's usually rooted in #ablism but also privileged shit perspectives too

Good grief. Apparently there are parents on Tiktok getting their young children to pretend to be disabled in order to try to win giveaways that have cash prizes or trips to places like Disney.
Molly Burke explains why it’s damaging to people who are really disabled to encourage children to lie like this.

You can say what you like of course, but
this just isn't the case.I'm a person with learning disabilities, and in an academic environment I can be weeks or months behind when a concept doesn't "click" or I find it difficult to apply.
I've worked with LLMs to explain things to me in new/novel ways tested my understanding, etc. and that's made me more able to understand material more quickly.
While learning is in part the journey of getting to knowledge, when there are assistive tools that can help people with disabilities, denying them access to them, or saying that it's not real etc is ableism just in the same way that when I was in school, I encountered teachers and students who said that if I couldn't spell a word, I didn't understand what it meant, therefore spell check meant I couldn't read.

Those who don't dissent, divest or resist through #CommunityCare ARE equally as violent as those #facist they fear
But go on and assume bigoted views rooted in Anti-Blackness and #Ablism and don't believe victims if ongoing #systemic oppression and injustice when we ask for pennies for food
Or a simple fucking #boost when even $1 from a few people would help us eat

"Cafe Crip: Challenging Professionalism
Cafe Crip is a monthly gathering to talk about important topics within our disability communities. This month’s theme is Challenging Professionalism. To earn a living, Professionalism (ableism rebranded) often forces us to squeeze our bodies and minds into tight suits and tiny boxes. Let’s talk about that.

Introductie tot radicale collectieve zorg
This workshop will be in Dutch.
Radicale collectieve zorg.

Wellp, its a good thing I'm resourceful, persistent, and know a few things about code. I should not have had to go this far, and I should not have to do what I have to do in order to use my $1,400 network switch. Explnation follows.
But this is what ablism, lack of accessibility, lack of inclusive design, and lack of critical and forward thinking and planning by Netgear UX/UI designers, along with everyone else who does/makes these kinds of things/decisions causes for those who do not fall into their narrow mindset, views, and ideas of what is functional and useful design.
So it turns out that practically the entire web UI is Java script. Surprised, anyone?
On the VLAN membership page, there are ports and link aggregation group designations in a table, but of course not formatted at all like a proper table. Not yet surprised?
That's all well and good. But here's where it gets completely ablist, inaccessible and inconsiderate. The settings that control the port/LAG state is entirely images, and java-based clickable controls that don't actually respond to screen reader clickable identification/listing mechanisms. So if a port/LAG is part, not part, tagged, or untagged in a VLAN is only communicated as a visual signal in an image. And as we've seen in my previous post, even AI can't figure it out accurately more than half the time. Making adjustments to these controls is purely a guessing game. However, here's where my persistence, resourcefulness, and understanding of code comes in.
After slamming things around for a few hours, including my keyboard, I got the bright idea to start looking through the dev tools as well as page source.
It was then that I got frustrated once again, until I figured out that the VLAN membership stuff was in a separate iframe. So I had to look at its separate source specifically.
Once I found the code I needed, I then discovered that I could figure out what state each port/LAG was in by interpreting the html/java image code/tags and image names for each port. Two examples follow.
The first port is 10, and is removed from the VLAN. The second port is 11, and it is untagged in the VLAN.
<div class='portMember margin'><span class='portword'>10</span><div class='panels'><div class='portImage remImg'></div></div></div>
<div class='portMember margin'><span class='portword'>11</span><div class='panels'><div class='portImage untImg'></div></div></div>
So in the two above examples, we can see that the portword class is 10 and 11 respectively. This tells us what port we're dealing with.
Then later in the code, we can see that the portImage is either remImg or untImg. I've deduced that rem means remove, and unt means untagged.
So this is how I have to do VLANs in my $1,400 switch.

I sometimes wonder if food writers and content creators realize how ableist it is to paywall all of their media on Patreon. I’m all for supporting creators I love financially, but not allowing people to access anything unless they have fully subscribed to a monthly debit means anyone who is on a fixed income or financially precarious due to disability is completely excluded from engaging with any of the content. It kind of immediately makes me dislike the creator as a human being. Does it mean I don’t think you deserve to make money? No. Does it mean I think you are a privileged ass who doesn’t consider the scope of people who might access your work and actually provide you more engagement? Abso-fucking-lutely. Would I have saved up to buy a cookbook? Yup. Will I now that I’ve seen how you do business? Not on your life.

CW: Disabilities, US Pol, ablism, and Nazis
I have been #incontinent for really my whole life. I endured a lot of bullying for it.
I am a whole new level of angry, disgusted, frustrated, that the very same people who absolutely would make fun of incontinent people for wearing diapers are now out in public displaying diapers, saying "real men wear diapers", because their favorite bigot Nazi shitbag needs diapers.
What pushed them past #ablism is their bigotry was stronger!
I FUCKING HATE THIS SOCIETY! -
We are all equipped with #choice. I came here for the #conversation, spent 2 minutes in the #confrontation, learned about #block and #mute and here we are.
I think #guidance on happy use of the Fediverse makes sense. Ppl coming here after years on #Farcebook and #xitter (pronounced Shitter in deference to #president #Xi), have gotten used to being torn apart over an asterisk or a comma.
Here it takes a moment to realise those people aren't here. They are still on #shitter.
Many folks, me included, didn't even know there was a word for #ablism for example. I do now and try to keep it in mind, simply because #someone pointed out of to me.
These #discussions can become the core of what the #Fediverse is so about.
